I know Ricky from his Barn days, he would spar, fight anyone! So he is not the sticking point here, and Billy probably gets 10% of his purse and believes Ricky can win, so he ain't the sticking point either I don't think! It's either Alex or fisheyes who don't fancy it, if this doesn't go ahead. Ricky would rather fight Broner and get a big pay day and big kudos, rather than fight Derry for a tenth of the money and people laughing at the match up.

If he walks like a duck and quacks like a duck-it's a duck, which is what Burns is doing with Broner.
It is a total mismatch and Burns and his team know it.

Broner looks good no doubt, but he has the sniff of a James Kirkland about him....hype, hype, hype and then boom

Burns is the sort of guy who used to show up to his amateur fights not knowing who he was was fighting and not caring. There's no way he's ducking Broner. He needs to sign with Hearn.

yeah because Burns has never ever fought as a massive underdog before against a supposedly much superior opponent

that can't be true...he's too afraid of losing a fight...oh wait...

I see you choose to ignore my question before passing judgement.
I'll ask again, would Feb have been a reasonable date if he had won in a round or two?
I suspect not,so foloow your own advice before trying to **** over my post which I've made clear is only an opinion.
He had a full camp, then never had a fight.Even if he'd had a quick KO he would've had a rest then a 8-12 week camp for Broner.Maybe my maths isn't great but that soesn't quite add up to Feb 16th in my opinion, which is all I'm giving.

Saying on STV he's knocked it back and will defend in January because timing's not right for Broner.
Not good.I knew they'd say it wasn't enough time but why fight in January leaving yourself wide open for criticism?
Can't really defend it if he's fighting in January

And no doubt it'll be someone **** if they've not named an opponent for such a short time away.

Will he even fight in January?

I doubt it, just over 4 weeks, no opponent(for a title defence as well) and no card put together...February looks likeliest if anything

You can understand them saying it's not enough time for Broner, but how good will someone be to accept a date in Jan?
Never expected the Broner fight in Feb but still scunnered.Sounded really bad the way STV described it.

Nobody involved with Burns wants the fight, not even Ricky himself, I honestly thought Ricky was a bit of a warrior, he's proved me wrong.

Yeah, I don't think anyone really expected broner until april or even summer. I dont mind 1 more fight before Broner/a big name but it must happen. Has to. We already have 1 nathan cleverly, we don't need two.

The time is right to take the fight now rather then later, Broner is only going to get better.

Burns is 29, in his prime and has 37 fights under his belt, what more experience does he need?

It won't even happen in the summer, it's a blatant duck on the part of team Burns.
