Did Khan improve, or was molina wayyyy overmatched

Everyone must remember Khan could have gone into this fight and done his standard crap and possibly finished it early if he wanted to...

This was just a comeback fight in which he could test some of the things Virgil has been teaching him over the last 8 weeks... and seeing how he is learning

Khan looks like he is finally going to ALWAYS be working off that jab...
He is focusing on ring movement (important) for if he is fighting strong fighters...

He was doing ok on the inside... and you could see at times when Molina came in Khan wanted to try and fight there and test some of the things Virgil has taught him...

They are getting the base of how he should be fighting down which is good...

Now He needs to work on how he should be holding himself AFTER an attack...
and help him keep that chin down while obvoisly continually working on ring movement

Khan put in a better performance and looked more composed, but Molina, unfortunately, wasn't big/strong/aggressive enough to really test him. It's also only Khan's first camp with Virgil, so we shouldn't really be expecting too much from him just yet.

All in all, it was ok and a step in the right direction. Nothing amazing.

wasnt all that impressed

he was getting hit by the exact same punches Garcia hit him with

he is still wide open to counters after or mid combination, if Molina had power, and knew how to cut off a ring and close distance he could have won

Khan didnt fix his main problem, he also had some nice pushes inside which makes me wonder if he fixed the inside game

his punches were very pitter patter seeming and though he landed a lot Molina never looked discouraged, i think Khan should throw that left hook to the body like he did vs Maidana

 

A little bit of both. He showed a good step in the right direction, utilising his jab more and being more controlled with his attacks, as well as actually fighting on the inside and pivoting Molina when he was rushing in. When his offence is really flowing Khan looks amazing, some of the combos he throws are unreal, it's just the defensive side he needs to focus on, and it'll take a LOT of work... he still got caught with that left hook too much for my liking. He's not ready for Garcia again quite just yet.

 

Bit of both. Molina was solid but not at all as accomplished as Khan. Khan showed some tactical improvements, but still has work to do.

 

Molina was overmatch. He doesnt have a punch to hurt Khan. The only way we can see if khan improved if he face a real good fighter with a real big punch.

 

Molina looked about 3 division's smaller than him. Just a moving punch bag, I yanked it off after 6 rounds

 

that is why you will never be given that chance :rofl:rofl:rofl

 

he got hit quite often with counter left hooks and straight rights that would have shattered his chin if Molina could punch. Garcia must have been licking his chops watching his signature punches still landing on a reg basis by a way lower level talent with no power.

 

Molina has 7ko on his record which is why they chose this fight and it still took 10 rds and he didn't score a KD ,I wasn't impress so what now he starts talking crap and fights a puncher and gets starch again.

 

Just because Molina has fought nobody's doesn't mean a guy such as Khan should be able to knock him down..

Molina showed he is strong.

This fight wasn't about getting knockdowns or KO's...

Old mentality Khan would have tried to finish him towards the end of the 4th.. But no realised he was tough and didn't take risks... which is what he needs to do.
