A lot of discussion here about how different national referees within the country and oversea can decide the outcome of a match. The most talked about seems to be Ward/Kessler match as an example. I also believe how the referee enforce rules and knowing the tendencies of a particular referee can make a big difference in a match. Can someone give a concrete example of a rematch where the different referee changed the look of the match as clear as day?

Are you referring to the controversial referee'ing by Cortez on the Mayweather match? If so, it's too hypothetical since they didn't have a rematch.

well if you're a brawler frequent breaks can hurt you, and vice versa if you have a fighter which clinches and tries to rough you up on the inside while you try to box him form the outside

Also refs who are too quick to stop the fight on a tko, especially when fighting guys who fight in short flurries

the world would of never of seen 3 of the 4 fights between pac and marquez

You are right about that. What about those referee who is always persuaded by the guy saying he is getting hit low without seeing the punch at all?

i still think the better guy will prevail

I mean i think the Hatton vs Floyd thing got blown out of proportion, do you really think Hatton would have done that much better

do you think Ward wasnt really gonna beat Kessler

You know if Kessler beat Ward in a rematch and the referee let say break the clinches quickly or warns Ward every time is gets close to butting Kessler, then that would be a clear example to me.

I saw it, sometimes I think the referee gives too much lead way to the fighter who is complaining without seeing what actually happened. They should put in replays to take care of those stuff.

Coggi fairly won the rematch, but obviously the ref and corruption played a part in him "winning" the first fight.

Thanks a lot! I'll watch how it plays out.

Also of course corrupted referee will make a difference. Lets just say suttle enforcement differences between two not corrupted referee making a big difference in the two matches.

Khan would say that it made a difference in his match v pederson.

Maidana v khan had some referee intervention.

    Mares v agbeko.
