picking a winner in this fight is hard. Neither guys is that great, but Khan has more potential. If Khan fights smart and with a jab and sets up his punches he wins easy enough. He needs another tuneup before fighting Ortiz just to get into the discipline of using a jab more.

I don't think their amatuer match means much now, I think they fought when they were 15-16.

doubt this happens and if it did i honestly think that khan is not good enough to go through a whole 12 rounds without being hit square on the chin. And a big puncher at 147 will exploit this.

even with more time with hunter i can't see khan becoming good enough defensively to get through a fight without being hit flush and therefore capitulating. Khans biggest problem is that he is delusional, keeps rambling on about his speed and no fighter in the world being able to live with him if he boxes clever.

For me timing has always beat speed, a well timed solid punch to the jaw from a fighter willing to take a few is all it will take to flatten him again. Khan just doesn't punch hard enough, his footwork is still terrible and he leaves his chin hanging in the air. He may be able to improve some more and limit the amount of exchanges he gets involved in but ultimately he will be found wanting again.

 

Khan would never take this fight.

 

After X-rays it was proven his hands weren't broken and they just need ice.

On another note, Ortiz KO's Khan mid rounds

 

This would come down to what version of Ortiz turns up, and for that matter, what version of Khan. FOTY written all over it. Khan needs to stay away from the right hook and avoid being out muscled by Ortiz on the inside to stand any chance.

Terrible fight!! Khan will get tagged, feel Ortiz' power, then flurry like an amateur, run and hold all night en route to a pts win. That's if he doesn't get KTFO first, but I see Khan doing everything he can to survive which translates to running and holding for dear life ever chance he gets mixed in with the occasional pitty pat flurry.

 

The loser of this one should probably retire. I am picking Khan.

If Khan steps up to 147 it'll be to face Kell Brook for a world title should he beat Devon Alexander.
