    It's not an opinion.

    It's a fact.

Because he loves Hopkins to bits and wants people to agree with him, as opposed to telling him how Calzaghe is going to own him :yep

Im starting to think: either BigReg is a hopkins love child :blood, or he is actually B-Hop himself....

Trust me, the only nuthuggery going on around here is from the ardent Calzaghe pole jockers. They continually make post afte post about how Calzaghe is just going to steamroll right over Hopkins(many are even predicting a stoppage). To tell you the truth though, that doesn't even bother me. I've pretty much stayed out of it and let them have their fun.

What really bothers me though are the ones downplaying Hopkins' resume, discrediting his wins, and implying that Calzaghe is just as accomplished. I created this thread to get some perspective.

Incidentally, I notice Amsterdam still hasn't voted. Is it that painful to make an honest assessment, or is dissing his beloved Calslappy too painful to handle?

Perhaps some of the discrediting comes as a reaction to the posts wherein DLH is on the list o good wins for Bhop.

I voted Bhop and I would do it agin, but in ll fairness, guys.. DLH had no business with a man that much larger than himself. That was painful to see for all DLH fans, dont you remember??
We wouldnt send Pavlik in with Wlad or Haye, would we?

DLH is a legend, same as Bhop is and their fight was a commercial sucess, but really, guys.. It had no value as a sporting event.
The same oes for Winky. He is DONE, fellas. Beating him proved only that Bhop can still stand for 12 rouns and thats all good. Does anyone thing hat it was a good fight? Exiting? anyone?
    punchstats wee ridiculously low!

I see JC going about this fight a bit more cauciously than against Kessler - out of natural respect for Bhops acomplishments and his infamous ability to play dirty. But Still a caucious JC would throw in the late 800s - lw 900s!

how is Bhop going to cope with that?
JC has faster hands than anyone Hopkins has ever faced, guys.

    As for the best win.
Certainly Bhop will be JCs most significant win in terms of American recognition. Were that all that mattered, Id pick Bhop, hands down.
To us Euro bums, however, Kessler is always going to be a better win - especially in the years to come when Kessler dismantles the rest.

Its even ... they both have accomplished the same things in their career. They both have fought blown up 154 pounders and they both stood tall against who the media thought was going to be their stiffest test.

No one has the edge on the other ... its just that B-Hop has been in the spotlight longer than Joe.

Both have done a great job on staying in shape consistantly ...

I think early in his career and as of late... Hopkins fought better opposition ... and later on in Joe's career he fought better opposition.

Calzaghe has more fillers on his resume' -- but it doesn't take anything away from his skillset or talent level.

I'm inclined to agree with you that Tarver and Winky are better than Lacy and Manfredo, but Kessler takes them both out.
And those loses against Taylor simply look bad in my overall picture

    :-(

When did you start watching boxing...after the Lacy fight? Cause you sure dont know **** about the sport if you feel Calzaghe is more accomplished than Hopkins.

    I love Calzaghe...but be serious.

I stated already that I voted Hopkins..

However, I do get the sentiment that allows peeps to vote JC
It depends on the criteria you judge by
