Good post, I'll respond to part of it.

Yes, this is one of the big issues. I can understand why you want some of these HWs to fight Wlad NOW. In 2 years Wlad, at 38, and will almost surely be somewhat past his prime. If a Pulev or Fury or whoever beats him then (if he doesn't retire), it won't have the same impact - and it shouldn't.

 

It depends who you look at it really. Mitchell, Dimitrenko and Liakhovich all probably could have had title shots during the last few years but decided to go after tougher build up fights instead only to end up getting horribly exposed and possibly now will never get the chance again. And then on the other hand the likes of Charr and to a lesser extent Wach must be laughing all the way to the bank after getting in and out after grabbing their life changing sum of money. I think it's next week when we see Charr vs Alirich and to be honest that looks a very tough fight for Charr to me. I can certainly see him even get stopped there.

 

All 3 of them are really poor in fairness, so are Charr and Wach though I suppose.

 

Going to see this one, can't wait think Price will get a late stoppage

Satchell/Wilton will be good. Tony Dodson, Neil Perkins will probably both fight on the card too.

This is a step up fight regardless of age.

 

It's a n improvement over his recent opposition. It's about time he stepped up a level. Price is still a prospect this next year we'll see if he can become a serious contender.

Price for me is still defensively very flawed but due to his size has so far been able to get away with it. Will be interesting to see if his power has the same effect at a higher level.

So Sasha hasnt fought Wlad or Vitali yet......but outside of challenging for the title, he's fought very solid fighters since his 6th or 7th fight. :think

And while some of them are/were or would become journeymen, most all those would be journeymen are considered top notch when it comes to upset potential.

And more than a few of his fights have been over former world titlists, contenders, and gatekeepers.:good

 

Its a real shame - Price has looked fantastic in all of his outings.. I just dont get what they are waiting for! Im not usually one to talk about "chins" but I know Price had some durability issues in the ams.. possible reason maybe? But surely by now at age 30 hes about damn near as good as hes going to get. Would love to see him against some live opponents, hes got the talent and athleticism.

I didn't say he was on the same level. I said longevity is meaningless if you dont have a note worthy win. Read it again, and you might understand better a second time.

 

Price has the greatest recovery powers out of every heavyweight in the division, he gets stunned goes down and gets up recovered every time.

Going down isn't a problem if you can get back up and dominate the fight. Floyd Patterson and Wlad both done very well out of the sport, he does need to improve his defence though. This fight is a good test and will gauge how good he actually is.
