It's a big shame that Burns/Rees won't happen as that would be a big domestic fight and one which Burns would get a lot of credit for should he be victorious. Former LWW world champ, current Euro champ, known to the fans and with a world ranking. Rees is obviously looking to fight for a world strap soon but if you asked him who he fancied his chances against out of Vazquez/Broner/Burns I am pretty certain he would opt for the latter!

The WBA belt is also vacant so there is an opportunity for someone there.

Unlike many Americans, I believe if Ricky brings his A game he can make Broner have to work for a decision.

Honestly I don't know why Ricky or FW would hesitate to make this fight. Broner will not be around at 135lbs for long in any event and an excellent showing, if even in defeat, would provide greater exposure for Ricky and earn additional fights.

:good The majority think the same over here but it's nice to hear a logical view from across the pond, Burns has a chance to make a big name for himself, win or lose, he is a good enough fighter to be competitive with Broner imo?

I think a lot rests on how he copes with fighting on foreign soil, it can inspire him or go the other way and it overwhelms him? Its an interesting match up though.

Excellent post Hoopsman.I'm not sure Ricky would have enough but I've learned never to write him off and it's nice to see a balanced post on the matter from someone on your side of the pond.

Cant see why some think Broner is a cert on this. The guy has plenty of flaws.

Might be a bit of a hitter but he loses control when travelling sagittal for a start.

    Damn easy to manipulate.

Burns k.os Broner with the solution.
