Are there any British welterweight prospects coming through on the domestic scene?

Should you count a Commonwealth champion as a prospect? He's not far away from the glass ceiling really.

He's good to watch and Brook aside is probably our best welter right now

 

if our best prospect is bradley skeete then we're ****ed good and proper! god he's awful.
surprised nobody's mentioned bradley saunders, adil anwar or tyrone nurse
i suppose curtis woodhouse and darren hamilton are up and coming but i can't say the latter really impresses me.

No, there's nobody at all at these weights who excites me in the slightest.

 

Im glad Im not the only one who thinks Vassell would beat Frankie Gavin like a ginger step son.

 

None of Saunders, Anwar or Nurse are much cop mate.

Saunders just loads up on too many shots and even when he doesn't there is nothing overly to write home about concerning his talent level.

Adil Anwar is one of those guys that will bamboozle fighters up to a certain level and then fall apart against a decent pressure fighter.

Nurse couldn't punch his way out of a wet paper bag and you really do need to be exceptional when you've got Malignaggi style pillow fists, and I'm afraid he ain't. Don't think he'd win a British title.

Not to be negative, all of these could compete at domestic level, they just don't have great potential beyond that.

 

Commonwealth gold medallist Paddy Gallagher doesn't seem to have gotten much love in the press yet.

Larry Ekundayo v Denton vassell for comm title by the end of 2013. Should be cracking fight.

 

Both are quality journeymen. Warburton has one 4 of his last 8.
