Not much relevance to the thread topic.

Benn himself spoke of fighting Dennis Andries at light-heavy before Barkley even went there, but when Thomas Hearns vacated the WBO super-middle title at the same time Eubank vacated the WBO middle title, the WBO magically made Eubank and Watson #1 and #2 at super-middle. Eubank and promoter Barry Hearn's original plan was to challenge Victor Cordoba.

Nunn, Benn, Toney and Jones all actually followed Eubank to super-middle because he was the money/fame fight.

:patsch Im convinced you dont know the division at all.
How did Ottke have a career as great as Calzaghes?
Ottkes best win was a SD many felt he lost over B Mitchell. Calzaghe beat Mitchell far clearer.
Ottkes next best win was Reid where most felt Ottke lost and Calzaghe beat clearer years previously.

Calzaghe beat common opponents clearer overall.
Calzaghe won all 4 SMW titles, Ottke didnt.
Calzaghe has wins over Eubank and Kessler. Who did Ottke beat as good as that? Nobody.
If you remove all common opponents for both, Calzaghe has wins over Woodhall and Lacy which are better SMWs than Branco and Mundine respectively

If they followed Eubank how come Nunn, Toney and Jones didnt fight him? I know Benn would have done anything for the rematch with Eubank.
Benn was supposed to fight Nunn at one time but ended up fighting McClellan.
Funny how Nunn seems to be almost forgotten in boxing when you consider his natural talent

Be honest, alot of that is due to the fact that back then alot of Eubank and Benn fights were on terrestrial TV. Calzaghe wasnt during his title days, except for Veit 2 highlights.
Eubank had some terrible performances, so dont get caught up with the glamour of big terrestrial TV promotion.

Bob Arum said Eubank had too much of an awkward style for Toney or Jones to look good against, and Eubank didn't want to be tied to Don King, who had Nunn tied.

Hard to say, because Calzaghe never actually fought any top-line challengers, and no decent fighters who were near their best days, apart from the unproven, one-dimensional Kessler. So it's difficult to judge how good Calzaghe was, because he's a bit unproven, though what he did to Eubank was extremely impressive.

What possible reason could they have to be bias towards Eubank? :huh

    Dont be ridiculous.
    Calzaghe beat
    - Mitchell who was unlucky not to get the win over Ottke and was a 2 time WBA SMW champ never beaten clearly at SMW with a good resume and win over Liles
    - Reid who looked unlucky against Ottke and beat Magee now WBA int champ, Reid also beat Cherifi who became WBC MW champ
    - Eubank who wasnt as far gone as you would want to convince everyone. I dont need to tell you his resume
    - Lacy who was a winner of 5 SMW title fights and had beaten Reid, Vanderpool, Pemeberton, Tsypko all top 10 SMWs
    - Veit who was only ever beaten by world champs or fighters who became world champs and as well as having a fair resume became WBO int champ and beat undefeated 27-0 Braehmer who became a LHW world champ
    - Kessler you note who wasnt one dimensional until Calzaghe showed the way
    - Woodhall wasnt past his best and has a decent SMW resume

All those fighters were SMW champs at some point, Kessler, Veit and Lacy when Calzaghe beat them and all near their best days
