And really, that's the bottom line when it comes to Haye, and discussion about him

people HATE him, a lot of people HATE him, for various reasons e.

Therefore it's basically impossible to have a genuine discussion involving him.

Most within boxing hold him in high regard, and appreciate his talent and achievements, most people hanging about on the internet forums HATE him, and will go to any lengths to belittle his achievements.

What does Vitali have to gain from fighting Haye?

Quite a lot, in the real world, but not much in internet world.

Guess it's up to him to decide which is more important.

A lot of peeps online just can't stomach the idea of a fight, because in the back of their mind, buried as deep as they can, there is a little voice, very faint "what if? what if Haye knocked vitali klitschko out"

It's a voice they don't want to deal with

The ramifications are just too dire for them to process, so they say he's "not worthy"

Not as "worthy" as manuel charr and co.

    yeah

    right

Next to the Klitschko brothers Haye does not add up to much at all. For serving up the farce that was the Harrison fight he should be ignored forever, never mind his joke promise to have Wladimir crawling about the ring semi conscious. He should be made to face an eliminator but no doubt the circus around Haye will get him another chance to duck Vitali.

I've not said Haye isn't worthy, I just said I'd hate it if he got a cheap win over an old man.... mouth almighty would be in overdrive.

I'll openly admit that I hate his guts. Have done for quite some time.

That sentiment isn't exclusive to Haye by the way, I hate seeing a mouthy, younger gobshite beating up on an old man. Even more so if I like the said old man.

Haye isn't really a mouthy gobshite tbh.

He's openly admitted that it's all an act to sell the fight, people buy into it, so it works.

Yeah his effort against Wlad was not the best, but i said all along, we are talking about a man who has to eat like a horse and take suppliments up to the eyeballs to even make 215lb, against a 6'6" nigh on 250lb man mountain.

A lot of people are saying Wlad is a top 10 ATG heavyweight, Haye isn't really even a heavyweight.

Haye boxed off the back foot, like he always has at heavyweight, and looked for counters which were never there, because Klitschko as usual boxed like a robot and made 0 mistakes

the trash talking was an attempt to get Wlad to come out agressive, durin the fight Haye repeatedly dropped his hands to attempt to get Wlad to step over his front foot and leave himself open, he didn't it was the usual, jab, jab, jab, jab, jab.

Haye has never been a come forward, bob and weave, seek and destroy fighter, he's always been a conservative counter puncher who throws little volume, but almost exclusivley power shots, he's always deployed feints instead of a jab, that's just his style, he did nothing too different against Klitschko.

If he'd done a ridiculous kamikaze strike, he'd just get all the "glass jaw" bollocks anyway.

I don't get why people are so upset tbh, well really they are just pissed off because Haye talked a bit of **** to sell the fight.

The Klitschko admirers should be greatful really, Haye helped Wlad make some good money.

I can't take Haye seriously because he spent years chasing the Klitschkos with outrageous trash talk and behaviour, then when he actually to got to fight one, he put in a laughable non-performance followed by some ridiculous excuses, THEN the whole process of trash talk, wild unsubstantiated boasts began again, that is why Haye is not a serious fighter, he's a clown with an inflated sense of his own importance. A win over Haye would not enhance Vitali's legacy in any significant way, because Haye isn't anything special, not even close, to be honest - that's from a boxing perspective, adding a win that "would be in your top 5" doesn't exactly provide huge motivation, nor does Haye's decreased marketability due to the Wlad "fight."

    yeah, nothing special at all.

    Like I say, ignorance.

I wish people would just be honest

"I don't want Vitali to fight Haye, because Haye might win, and I don't like him"

    There, simple, not obvious lies.

Save some dignity please, because all the arguments you can produce are nonsensical.

Cruiserweight isn't worth ****, Hickey, and he held those belts for five minutes before dodging Cunningham and Adamek and winning that WBA HW bauble on a questionable MD, successfully defending it once in a semi meaningful fight against a shot John Ruiz - I don't include the Audley farce. He had the cheek to call himself 'the' heavyweight champion also. The mouth was never 'the' heavyweight champion and never will be, but bring him on. Let's see him against old Vitali for a laugh, because he will be beaten up. I have no fears on that score.

Haye has almost as many "world championships" as Manuel Medina. He must be very special indeed. Wins over ATG's like Enzo and Valuev definitely solidify his 'special fighter' status. You've nullified your own argument anyway by saying that Vitali beating Haye would be one of Vitali's top five wins. Not exactly legacy making stuff is it?

You seem quite upset in the other direction, tbh.

Face it, Haye is hardly knocking down the doors at heavyweight to get a shot at either Klitschko. He said he was retired at 31, and then put the caveat that he'd go against that pledge "for another shot at a Klitschko", and he never reallly went away, he has been openly pressing for a Vitali fight ever since he retired. He thinks he has an automatic right, or enough pulling power, to walk straight into another big fight. It's his gamble.

He acts like Ray Leonard or Floyd Mayweather but without the credentials.

If he's such a draw, he'll get the fight anyway, so don't worry. :good

I can just imagine Vitali's thought process right now.

''My 5th best win might be a bit crap, I think I need to fight David Haye to seal my legacy''

    What bollocks.

His legacy is the brave showing against Lennox Lewis. No more, no less. Aside from getting a rematch and winning by knockout, he wasn't ever going to top that.

He could get to 100-2 with 90 knockouts against all kinds of turds, it wouldn't matter.
