it isn't corruption it is that judging is very subjective. The popular more well known fighter always has the edge in a fight. There are many variables which favor one fighter over another. I think maybe combining punch stat with judging might work. Hard to say.
No sir. Huck Povetkin was a robbery because Huck won about 9 rounds and repetedly stunned Povetkin=Robbery. Adamek Cunningham had Steve winning the first 3,an even round and then Adamek landing the harder shots and Steve holding on for dear life on a few occasions. Close fight, you must accept that close fights can go either way. It's only human beings doing the fight judging. Calm down and have some dip.
I'll never understand people who say they're going to stop watching it because of bad decisions. Do you watch it mainly for the adrenaline-filled thrill of hearing Buffer announce good scoring at the end of a bout? What goes on in the ring matters much more than anything else.
Perfectly well put. This apathy amongst many boxing fans is depressing and becoming more and more widespread. There needs to be more outrage towards things like this, not this herd-like sheep mentality. Someone who still gets worked up about the state of his sport and feels a desire to make a moral stand is the real fan in my book, not the "shut up and accept it" brigade. Those types are mere stooges.
STFU. The guy is obviously just venting. Do any of us not feel the same way? The worst thing is how this destroys the lives of the losing fighters, but in addition, it probably is another important reason that many of the best athletes never get into boxing in the first place. It also HAS to be a major reason that the average viewer doesn't watch boxing. Everyone loses except for the promoters and the mob. And obviously, it's never going to change. Whatever.
True Why do some watch football when you can call holding on almost any play? ... hockey when you can call holding, hooking or tripping often or not? ... hoops when you can call traveling or ignore it when a star is doing it? ... baseball when each umpire has his own strike zone? :huh You even (used to when they were more honest) have announcers say a certain player - usually an older star - has "earned" that call? Oh really so now the rules are based on your tenure and popularity :think ALL sports have these issues - and enough people keep watching them.
The Mob? Come on man! This ain't 1950! It was simply a decision based on what the judges saw. It was a close fight, could have gone either way.
:deal I love the sport of boxing but I ****ing hate boxing politics! It's like were back in the 20's and 30's and the mob is running the sport... It's shameful!
