Tyson Fury is getting better and better

Just retaliating on his level, dude.

 

fury's sloppy, featherfisted andhas a glass jaw....he will not be anything special. Price would kill him.

 

You wouldn't be talking about the guy if he weren't 6ft 9, with the obvious physical advantages he has over most fighters. Just a circus act in my opinion. Prove that size matters, and how he knows to utilize it. He'll get stopped by the first super heavyweight he comes across who can bang.

 

Fury is my most improved fighter for 2012, he's come a long way in a short time, and the sad news for the haters, is that at age 24 he is a long way from his prime.

At the age Fury is now, Vitali Klitschko had not yet turned pro

Wladamir had just been ko'd by Ross Purrity, and was written off as a glass jawed loser

Lennox Lewis had just turned pro.

So you can see, Fury is doing pretty well in comparrison to the great super heavyweigts of the past, and stil has a lot of upside.

At the age Fury is now, Wladamir was about 8 years from hitting his prime, and still had another 2 ko losses to come.

 

Fury was sloppy but he's tightened up his punches a lot more now, and seems to be more disciplined in sticking to a good gameplan which maximises his height by keeping him boxing behind his jab. He's still occasionally prone to sloppiness in combinations or when he senses an opponent is hurt, there for the taking etc, but I expect those wrinkles to be ironed out as he gains in experience. If you haven't watched the Kevin Johnson fight then do so. Fury made a lot of improvements and outjabbed a pretty good jabber himself.

As for featherfisted, Fury certainly doesn't punch as hard as a man his size would be expected to punch, certainly nowhere near Price, Helenius or either of the Klits, but he gets a lot of thud on his punches. Opponents obviously respect his power and don't just walk straight through him. And he's the best of the big men to put his punches together, a natural combination puncher.

Glass jaw? What do you base that on? The Pajkic KD? Think Fury's jaw is pretty solid myself, not granite, but not likely to lose him a fight he's winning via turnaround punch.

 

Fury was in a better shape against Queenpin Johnson. He should keep the good work. A fight with Jennings or Wilder will test him well at this point. Yet, it is highly unlikely. Who is he fighting next, anyway?

 

Certainly not either of the above two.

 

Fury does NOT have athletic gifts to be great like Wlad. He just isnt naturally gifted.
He can fight and seems mentally tough but it wont get him too far.
I am personally rooting for Fury at future he is good and pretty entertaining fighter.

That being said NONE of the british fighters will be THE champ.
They just does not have "it", they are not the complete package.

You can keep living in dreams like you brits tend to do.

 

He might not have the athleticism, but he has more to his all round game, namely being able to throw combinations, an uppercut (pretty tast, just ask HIM) and being able o fight on the inside.

As for no british fighter, or WHOEVER being the champ because of not being a complete package, Wlad isn't the complete package, the man has no inside game ffs, none, couple that in with abysmal punch resistance to the level of being clearly hurt by practically every punch he's ever taken.

That's a GLARING hole in his "package" but he did alright.

The rest of it is just nationalistic nonsense, take a break mate, it's christmas.

Maybe Robert Helenius can do you fin's proud and make a real comeback, I hope so, wish you the best of luck, he's a good bloke.

 

Fury isn't as athletic as Wlad obviously, but then Wlad's one of the most athletic big men to ever step into the ring so that's not really realistic a comparison. Fury's more on the level of a Riddick Bowe, albeit a giant clownish version who punches himself in the face, and he has more than enough ability to become a very tough heavyweight provided he continues to improve and develop his game. He'll always be vulnerable; he just seems to like to take too many risks; it's part of his makeup. But as for not being the complete package that's no reason to dismiss him. Lots of good fighters had glaring holes in their game but made up for those in other ways. Fury has the size, jab and fighting heart to minimise his deficiencies, and a good enough chin to keep him in any fight.

 

Fury is the best prospect out there. He is still one of the youngest prospects but already the best and he's improving every fight. And he is still several years away from his prime he is very young for a HW

 

He's definitely not the most talented, but he seems to have the most faith in himself, and the least fear in getting beaten. That sort of confidence can take him far.

 

First of all merry christmas.

I should have explained myself more closely. I think Wlad has always had the potential but he never managed to give it all out. Watch Wlad early, he was offensive beast, he was taunted the next big thing. And how Steward managed to made him totally different fighter, that is something. What comes about inside game, they never taught it to Wlad. Simple as that, Guy can beat them all from outside using his great physical attributes even he looks pretty boring **** at times. Wlad does not show any versatility in his fighting, none. He just refuses to mix it up. I wish Steward had took Wlad before Sanders fight, that fight took something away from Wlad in mental side.


Anyway, what comes to Helenius, yes he is good bloke, he really is, nice guy, listen hies interviews. But he just does not have the athletic gifts on his side. He can fight but he is just oo lazy *******. There is just something wrong in him, he cant even pump his jab to keep guys like 300 pounds shot Samuel Peter away from him. For guy like Helenius good jab is everything!

Tyson Fury will propably beat him pretty easily if Helenius wont land his haymaker and propably wont. Fury is the best of them and maybe he can become great, we will see. I am just skeptical because his lack of speed and brutal punching power. But I hope, he is entertaining boxer and he can fight and the more important he showed against Johnson he can use attributes of these super heavyweights like they should.

I dont know, is Uli Wegner slowing his development? What does Wegner teach them?
I really hope Helenius could grab some title but it just looks such a remote thought and like slipping further away everytime these other contenders keep developing.
I think finnish boxing is in hands on Helenius otherwise we will fall in to oblivion once again. He can fill the Arenas, people come to watch him but this does not look good when we think about future.

 

Why do people keep saying Fury lacks speed? He's not the fastest kid on the block but he's not slow by any means.

 

I dislike Wegner as a trainer as well. All of his fighters seem to have the same style with the exact same flaws it isn't as bad with Hernandez (yet) but I think there are much better trainers for someone like him
