If the Olympics is anything to go by, he should be fun to watch at least and off the back of the Olympics I think it is a smart signing.

Hasn't a big wig from BoxNation jumped ship & gone to BT Vision? That's probably why people are assuming BT will pick up boxing.

I'd say BT Vision is pretty likely.

'Schaefer is not only in discussion with the traditional UK television channels, such as Sky.
Intriguingly, he has sparked interest with British Telecom, who are rapidly becoming major players in the sports market, and is also exploring the possibility of an American network becoming the host broadcaster.'

GDP entering the UK could be genuinely exciting if they pick up Anthony Joshua at some point and bring over some of the big American fighters as has been suggested.

I agree that it would be crazy for Golden Boy to be on BT Vision from a consumers point of view but it's very likely.

Where we stand as for promoters/TV deals in the UK: -

    Frank's cards - Boxnation
    Matchroom cards - Sky
    Hennessey's cards - Channel 5
Maloney's cards - Loaded TV (excluding David Price)
    Hatton's cards - ???

    Golden Boy cards - Sky/Boxnation/Primetime
    Top Rank - Sky/Boxnation
Main Event cards - Premier Sports

    K2 cards - ESPN (?)
Sauerland cards - Boxnation (except Kessler cards which are likely to be on Sky)

To watch all that you'd have to be paying around sixty-seventy quid a month minimum. I can't see much love for BT hoovering up boxing rights and changing fifteen quid to see them.

They're only talking about putting on four shows in 2013.
