These young supposedly prime fighters are made of marshmallow! Every other day they have a career threating injury or a major surgery!

Did Ray Robinson have these problems? LaMotta?

Trendy New School training exercises + strength and conditioning coaches=injury prone

Old school proven boxing training=less injuries, long career

Or it could be the case that many talented fighters back then did not get a chance to shine on a big stage and we did not hear about them like we did hear of SRR LaMotta etc

The surgery is the right decision these kind of injuries catch up with you when you get older it's probably a good decision

But there is no tear. If it's an inflamed shoulder, it's likely an impingement. Why have surgery for an impingement?

The problem is his weightlifting and these new age sport's science conditioners.

    What is torn?

    Rotator cuff?

    Slap?

    Full or partial?

You do the name Roach justice because you say as much dumb **** as Freddie Roach. Since when are you a doctor? You literally have no clue what you are talking about.

i think he knows what hes doing, stick to trying to figure out how to upload you an avatar rather than give medical advice to a smart guy like Ward

As soon as I heard about his shoulder injury I suspected it would be a problem with his shoulder capsule - why? - because a large portion of his inside work relies on a default position of resting his forearm below his opponent's chin placing his head on his opponent's chest to prevent his opponent getting any leverage on his shots.

Andre Ward is a great fighter but IMO, this is mainly due to Virgil Hunter who is a master of some great old-school techniques.

This type of injury may prevent Ward from using some of these tricks and force him to box more in the mid-range where I feel he may well be more uncomfortable.

If this happens against someone like Froch then Froch may well have his number because I don't think there's any SMW out there who can stand toe-to-toe with Froch - Ward included...
