Canelo would be a tough fight due to the kid's size. Floyd can beat Canelo in any range. I say to keep the clinches brief and not get worn out by Canelo's strength. He will need to stay active throughout the whole match. hitting canelo coming in, clinch to interrupt canelo's offense and turn. Rinse and Repeat. If Floyd continues to decline in his stamina, speed, and strength an upset may happen. If Saul can wait for Floyd to grow even older in 2 years Floyd would be beatable by then.
Ruin might be a harsh word...but I can't help but think it will stunt his confidence, at least temporarily. He's run through everybody he's fought since having mere moments of difficulty against Jose Miguel Cotto years ago (and Alfonso Gomez, but Canelo was in no trouble, simply trying something new it seems). So he's going to go from that, to paying for every mistake he makes? The Trout fight in between is a perfect step-up.
Basically, from the off, do what Mayweather does best, dictate the pace...make him fight his fight. Canelo loves to box at his own pace, and the few times someone has somewhat taken the initiative, Canelo has been somewhat surprised by it. I wouldn't go as far to say Canelo is predictable, but he hasn't exactly been unpredictable in how he boxes. He boxes in spurts, his offense is explosive, but then he takes a break, he explodes again, then takes a break. Unless he hurts you, this is the pattern. The problem Canelo has is, he won't have fought or even sparred against anyone with the defense of Mayweather, he won't have boxed or sparred against anyone who drags him in to their gameplan like Mayweather. This could shock him, and could even put him in to a shell (if the occasion doesn't get to him before that). Mayweather (like Bogo said) just needs to be Mayweather. Pick off as many shots when Canelo is on the offense, pressure him when Canelo wants a break. Don't stay on the ropes too long, but when you are, make Canelo waste the energy...just don't do what he did against Cotto and try to test your strength, Canelo is a big guy.
I agree with what you said although canelo has shown in his last fight to set up with fast punches then put everything into his last one or two punches. He has shown improvement so we won't even know what other "flaw" will be corrected.
He must win any exchanges in the centre of the ring. That has to be his playground. When Canelo backs him up he's gotta shoulder roll the **** out of him but more importantly sit down on any counters. He has to make canelo respect him. I'll be quite impressed if Floyd could unify the LMW division at his age. And against two world class fighters like Cotto and Canelo. This is the fight boxing wants. He needs to leave WW behind him. Fights with Canelo and Trout should be his 2013 campaign.
Quite the opposite, take the fight to the inside and cut the snap off Canelo's power punches, who's not only much slower, but infinitely less skilled at short distance. If he can't load on the punches and combos he can't hurt Floyd, and he most certainly won't decision Money at a distance he's never had to fight.
If I was Floyd I would wait a few years until someone else exposes him, then let my fans talk about how bad I would have beat that ass. If he was knocked out, just post meme pics of it, which of course means that I won the fight by proxy. Thats how Floyd would do it This content is protected
did you see coralles vs mayweather? like that he should fight. take no risks, step him with fast hands, step out. from time to time land a beautiful hook and unleash a furious combo, just for the fans :smoke
If he fights him at the end of the year Canelo will beat him,I said it last year Canelo is better than folks on this site think. He can box a lil and Money is getting old top it off that ghost fight will test him.
Would not be surprised if Floyd outclassed Canelo its a dangerous fight but stylistically Cotto presents more trouble just depends what floyds got left Truth of the matter is Canelo hasnt been nowhere near this level
