Really like this kid. He came back from a brutal KO loss to gritty contender Don George very well. Crushing a few cans and then outboxing Yordanis Despainge ruining his post olympic hopes plus afterwords tactically derailing Russian hype train Dimitry Sukhotsky over 12. This is an A+ run over a short year, year and a half span. With wins to Sukhotsky and Despainge most notable he did also defeat 2-3 journeyman in between and should be a legitimate contender for comeback of the year. Another win on this level and I'd love him to step in with Dawson, Pascal, Hopkins, Campillo or any other big name. I doubt he'll cashout that easy but Shumenov is ideal also. Kazakstani bum is cherry picking like crazy... What do you guys think? His loss made him more poised and smarter. If George wasn't going down to 160 It would be interesting to see him try to avenge it. Nevertheless, I am looking out for him in 2013.
Oh yeah, forgot about him. He impressed against Sukhotsky on the Mundine vs. McKart telecast on WealthTV, which was otherwise a farce. (in production value and matchmaking)
Cornelius the beast white turned down big money to fight Tony Bellew. Bellew is going to fight Isaac Chilemba or Grachaev next now.
White isn't ready for Bellew. A doubleheader of Bellew vs. Chilemba and White vs. Grachev would be sublime!
Whites a step below Bellew. Still climbing back up. But Id be fine with that fight, eliminator? Get him in with Grachev, Chilemba, Shobox maybe?
I watched the Despaigne fight and I thought White was going to get knocked out. Was I ever mistaken. I like him, I wanna see more.
Yes please! White-Grachev in particular would be a nice little battle. As for Cornelius himself, I really liked him against Despaigne, from what I remember he was pretty relentless in that one to grind it out. I was then very surprised to see the boxing performance he showed against Sukhotsky. A strong contender.
