According to this guy, Carl Froch is not an elite fighter! OKAAAY!

elite means those people who are on a different level, froch has the resume but certainly not top level skills. Mayweather, marquez, pac, ward, donaire are the only active fighters that I consider elite right now, elite is more like ATG skills and the showing that most world class fighters are below you

 

I`ts hard to deny what he has achieved but he isn`t that good.Will never beat Andre Ward again because he isn`t skilled enough,you can only be so good,no better.Froch certainly world class,without a doubt and a good rabbit puncher.

 

How anyone could claim that Froch is an elite fighter is beyond me.Limited skills but a great heart determination.Hell,even Kessler beat him and he was life and death against Taylor and Dirrell.

 

Considering that there is no accepted definition of what the **** 'elite' actually means in a boxing context, it's pretty pointless having an argument over whether fighter X is elite or not.

Keep it simple - Froch is at worst the 3rd best supermiddleweight in the world, and has beaten several past, present and future titlists.

Froch is a great fighter, not elite. I agree.

But if you think Manny is elite, then we have nothing to discuss further. Manny's a great fighter but certainly not elite. His best wins were at 135 and over a feather-fisted Bradley. He lost, arguably, every fight to JMM and then got KTFO by JMM. DLH, Hatton, Cotto, Margs, Mosley were all circumstantial fights: Manny was fighting guys coming off huge losses/beatings or consecutive poor performances/over the hill. He also is afraid to take drug tests.

Manny is not elite.

The elite fighters are the Wards, JMM's, Maravillas, Floyds, etc. Guys who fight opponents coming off wins, strong performances, move up/down in weight for their opponent, and then make those opponents look average.

 

Let's see, whose opinion should I put more weight on? Robert Garcia, trainer of the year and former boxer/champion, or some newb Froch nut hugger? Robert Gracia is "this guy" to you? :rofl.

he is not elite, but he is very good. Calzaghe was closer to elite regardless of what people say. Froch steps up in competition and loses to Ward. Calazaghe didn't lose regardless of opinions.
