For Bernard's sake, should he retire after his fight with Calzaghe?

Should Bernard Hopkins retire after his fight with Joe Calzaghe? He is well into his forties, and he's clinched the Hall of Fame status. He's made a lot of money also. Or would you like for him to keep on fighting the likes of Mikkel Kessler, or perhaps go up to Heavyweight and win a title there?

well if he wins there is still fights out there are very interesting for him. And it's not like he is taking a ton of damage over his career so him sticking around is no biggie to me. Plus he is a big name and can still make plenty more money if he chooses to.

But if he decides to call it, i wouldn't have a problem.

If he loses he should retire. If he must absolutely fight again it should be Roy just to settle ****.

As long as he can make more money and does not get seriously hurt, then there is not reason for him to retire.

Exactly. The stipulation is they both fight each other and retire so we cant' complain too much. Since it won't happen, I'll just go back and watch that shouting match they had on youtube.

I have to agree with someone above, that Hopkins should finally get the rematch with Roid Jones.

It should go down. Both aren't relevant now. After the Calzaghe fight Hops will be finished even if he doesn't get knocked out.

I remember reading an article on Ring Magazine that his goal is to move up to Heavyweight and get a title there since the Heavyweight division is so topsy turvy with no dominant champions.

I say he should retire for his health sake, and be a HBO broadcaster or something.

If Jones Wins A Couple More Fights And Gets In The Rankings Again, I Don't See Why It Would Be Pointless. It Would Be A Great Match Actually, Then Again Rjj Has To Show He Can At Least Compete, And The Win Over Trinidad Doesn't Do It.

I think the only fight left after Calzaghe is a score to settle with Jones. I just can't see him making much headway against the current crop of SMWs and LHWs.....anyway, what's to got left to prove?
