Bika got rolled. He wrestled, hugged, and held but fought well during the first 3 rounds, landing some good body shots. However, after round 3 his effectiveness dropped off substantially. He was still throwing lots of punches but everything was hitting Ward's arms, the back of Ward's gloves or the side of Ward's body. I counted just 1 significant punch upstairs for Bika over the first 11 rounds, then a few in the 12. The rounds Bika won were not convincing as he landed very little, but he was much more active than Ward (mostly hitting Ward's arms and the back of his gloves). Conversely, Ward was largely inactive until round 4 (I gave Bika rounds 1-3) when he started landing cleanly to the body and upstairs. Bika's punch output drops off significantly beginning in round 4 as he is unable to make adjustments to Ward's style. This indicates Ward has taken control of the fight (which he did). The rounds Ward won were very one-sided with Ward landing clean, hard shots upstairs and downstairs. Some people post how Bika won this fight. I made this thread to inform you 1) that you're wrong and 2) that you're an idiot. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vPW7jVXLCo"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vPW7jVXLCo[/ame]
Only watched in full once...I had it wide for Ward from memory but got the feeling Bika was only a step behind most of the way...It was a tough, ugly fight.
There were two toss up rounds and I gave Bika rounds 1, 2, 3 and 12. There are no other rounds which you can give Bika outright. Ward may've won at least one of the first 3 rounds, but I gave them to Bika. From round 4 to round 11 it was basically all Ward. No ****ing clue what some people are talking about when they say Bika won.
Can't remember which rounds i gave to who but i had it 116-112 Ward. Only seen it once and it was ages ago, not really a fight i'd want to rewatch either.
I agree. I'm being generous giving him all of the first three rounds. But Ward out-trenched him and looked very strong defensively, and definitely had a few chin-checks.
A guy whose style is based on holding, elbowing and headbutting against a guy whose style is based on holding, elbowing and headbutting but is better at it? There was only ever one winner.
Ward haters took the fact that osme of the judging was overly generous for Ward and ran with it ALLLLL the way to the point where they ended up saying crap like "Bika was robbed"
Considering Bika is on Calzaghe's trash of a resume, I can see why certain few desperate drunks would deliberately score it for him.
