Mayweather vs Guerrero/Canelo on May 4th makes no damn sense!

    This fight cant happen right now and neither should the Canelo fight. Beating Berto(coming off a beatdown and one year lay off) and becoming Floyds mandatory isnt enough to deserve a shot at derailing the undefeated Mayweather. Ortiz only got his shot cuz first off Berto was undefeated, Ortiz is ALWAYS in an exciting fight, was much bigger than Floyd, and knocked down every opponent were huge selling points. And frankly, there is too much to settle at 147 between Bradley, Guerrero, Brook, Alexander and Lopez. Oh and Canelo still hasnt done anything to deserve a shot at the elite. He needs to pay his dues.

    Im one of the few advocates of Mayweather Marquez II and many mexicans i know would love to see it as well. Also it was unprofessional and kinda pathetic for Floyd to cheat a lightweight out of 2 lbs. He knew he was facing one of the greatest and needed a mental edge as always. Not only that but why not put a stamp in your legacy by defeating the guy who has revamped his image at 147 by knocking out cold the guy YOU were supposed to fight. It makes more sense legacy and money wise to beat Marquez again, let the other welters sort eachother out, fight whoever makes it out on top, then fight Canelo once hes paid his dues.

    The guerrero fight happening right now is much more of a farce than the Ortiz fight. The Canelo fight also makes no sense other than $. If Floyds gonna take an 'easy' fight then might as well be Marquez. But i can assure you it wont be as easy as u think. Now if someone could just convince Marquez and his wife of this and make the fight happen!

    I wonder if the way Floyd waited for Pacman to lose will matter to his legacy. He can say he outlasted Pacman regardless of Manny fighting everyone he could the last 5 years.

    The Alvarez fight is MUCH more appealing than a Marquez re-match.

    To the vast majority of Boxing fans, Mexicans included.

    the significance of the Marquez fight is big . If he can beat Marquez easily again he would solidify his dominance over Marquez and in a way over Pacman. Floyd never wanted to fight Pacman, but this is his best way to look better than him. Canelo would be a good win, but he probably has a better chance of losing to Canelo than to Marquez. What about Marquez/Canelo? The weight? Probably too much for Marquez.

    Id much prefer Alvarez to any other fight. Next choice is Trout.

    At Ww I'd prefer Marquez or Bradley to Rob but I guess you can't really knock a guy fighting his mandatory challenger.

    Out of realistic fights, this would be my order:

    1. Alvarez, although i do want Alvarez to get a legit win to build up the fight first.
    2. Marquez II
    3. Trout

    Bradley isn't realistic because of Bob, same with Pacquiao. Martinez just won't happen.

    Whats the rush? Fighting Guerrero or Canelo next is just a pay day. Untill 147 clears itself up and Canelo proves his worth, either fight wont do anything for Mayweathers legacy.. It makes more sense and cents to beat the guy who beat the guy that everyone thought would beat you.

    The way a Canelo fight would work, in terms of legacy is that Floyd fights and beats him. Mayweather then looks better and better, the more Alvarez goes on to accomplish.

    Also the fact that Floyd cheated Marquez out of 2 lbs has to weigh on Floyd. I know the *****s get all bitchy whenever this is mentioned. But seriously did he have to cheat a lightweight out of 2 lbs and still couldnt finish him? He didnt bust up Marquez like he did Cotto, Mosley or Hatton. Marquez would put on a great performance with Floyd being less mobile and Marquez growing into 147.

    What if Canelo doesnt? Floyd could very well bust him up and expose him. I believe Floyd does fight for legacy and fighting Guerrero or Canelo right now would go against what hes about. The timing is all wrong and those fights can wait.

    That's the biggest risk Mayweather would be taking.

    He'll make mega money with Alvarez, Mexicans will flock to buy this fight.
    Huge pay day and the potential for it to be seen as one of Mayweather's better wins in years to come? What's not for him to like?

    You mention timing. For Mayweather the sooner the better really for this fight. He's getting older, Alvarez is getting better. Fight the kid now, before the gap between you shorterns again.
