Fights are won in the ring not boxing forums or betting bookies Floyd is 35 past his prime and will be the favorite against anyone from 147 down....even though he has two wins at 154 he has no business there considering he barely weights in over 150. ....the Oscar and Miguel he fought there beats everyone at 147 and most at 154. He doesn't have many options, at least fights guys after they win big fights. There isn't anyone at 147 that can challenge him. He is slowing down but is still the best at welterweight....Martinez at middleweight is wishful thinking chasing history but Martinez comes in At 170. Fight night

Does anyone at the elite level, who isn't shot and just looking for a payday, genuinely come into a fight thinking they can't win? Even Ricky "Same move every time right hook roll under" Hatton thought he would destroy pacquiao only to get knocked out bad

No one knows if they can beat someone until they ACTUALLY do it.....everyone who has lost a fight went into the fight thinking they can win.

Anyone who has actually been in the ring or even in a real fight knows this....

I have no problem with people claiming Mayweather cherry picks. That's fine. I understand. His opposition selection isn't the best it could possibly be.

However, it just so happens that most of those people saying Floyd ducks / cherry picks are Manny fans. And I draw the line there because Manny's entire career is built off cherry picking. Literally, everything above 135 and even including a few fights at the lower weights are the result of careful and timely opponent selection.

Then there's the whole "steroids" thing which will never evade Manny because, truthfully, he probably used them.

Anyhow, Floyd could pick better opposition, but his opponent selection is better than any recent great I can recall. The only person who may have superior opposition selection at the moment is Ward (but Ward's only fought 26 times, not 43).

Exactly ....here is a Lil story... The first time I sparred was with a guy shorter and smaller than me IM 5 foot 6 and was at least 5 pounds smaller he had been fighting 2 years but his technique was Shitty. Thought would work him, he kicked my ass for a round and a half, I adjusted the last round and a half it was about even he landed more I hit him harder and cleaner....I fought this big guy he was 170 to my 148 was a but apprehensive but the funny thing is he barely touched me for the first three rounds my trainer advised me to only throw jabs and body shots to break him down...no power punches at all the pressure it self had me drained. Round 4 and 5 I was teeing off on him his eye was busted from the jabs but boy he took a great shot...tough kid

I know what you mean I've been in the gym and watched a guy spar and thought I would hurt him easily but it hasn't worked out anything like that lol!

So I know the claim Mayweather only fights people he KNOWS he can beat just doesn't follow any logic. It's not real life....
