Well, LL got a lucky break against Vitaly. Everyone knows it, and the most impressive fighter on the night was Vitaly.

The best three fighters of the last many years are the K-brothers and LL, but LL does not overshaddow Vitaly's carreer. It does overshaddow Wlads imo.

He only fought 7 times, one of which was a loss. Compare his wins and losses with Wladimir's and he quite clearly doesn't come away as the dominant fighter of the decade. He was only active for a third of it. He was the dominant heavyweight of the 90s though

Bear in mind while Wlad wasn't the champion at the start of the 00s he was still one of the top contenders. He beat Byrd for the first time in 2000. It's not as if Wlad suddenly appeared when Lewis retired- he was a top fighter throughout the decade

This is slightly off topic, but why do people insist on putting 'discuss' in the thread title? Surely by creating a thread on a public forum automatically implies you wish to open up a conversation with others.

If anything trolls should end their thread titles with 'fishing' or 'baiting' because they are in fact using a forum for something it was not intended.

i.e. 'Lucian Bute was robbed against Froch because Froch is actually the alien from Men In Black I trolololol. Fishing.'

 

Wlad got knocked out twice in the 2000's and had no spectacular wins to offset those losses. He did absolutely nothing to unite the belts from 2005-2008 while his brother was gone, he was just 1 of 4 belt holders.

True. Lewis did more in the late 90's then in the 2000's.

Bit of a stretch tbh. Lewis' win over Vitali is better than anything Wlad has ever achieved but Wlad had a pretty nice streak from 2004 on. Also, his win over Byrd is better than Tua.

Arguable. Depends on what your criteria are. Resume-wise I'd rank their '00 wins as such:
