seriously Kessler is gonna destroy Miranda but he will probably get tagged once or twice. Good test after a loss.

Pavlik was very very close to being stopped early in the fight and he was behind on the cards... He won it clearly - a KO (nearly) always is, but he isn't much better than Taylor...

Well, I'm interested to see how Taylor and to a lesser extent Miranda do at SMW. Lots of speculation that will be answered regarding the relative merits of the fighters in each division. :yep

He was an inch from being stopped in the 2nd round. I think that qualifies as barely.

And that's more than B-Hop and Winky did....so I guess they're not elite???

People really do leave themselves wide open when they dismiss Kessler as being mediocre and then state that Pavlik is elite!! I like Pavlik a lot but he certainly is not 'elite'.

I'm not sure how anybody could think otherwise when watching the two fights on film.

Kessler and Mundine are so much more athletic than Pavlik and Miranda. They display better defensive awareness, timing, and technical skills. Their footwork is better, too. The thing that really separates Kessler and Mundine is their mental strength and consistency.

Pavlik is a basic, but highly effective fighter. There aren't many subtle aspects to his game. What you see is what you get: a tall, strong, determined, powerful fighter who pressures behind the jab and looks to get opponents backed up into the ropes where he can sit down on his punches. His punch variety is good - right up there will Kessler and Mundine. However, he is leaky defensively, has little variation in his movement, and isn't fast on his feet, making him vulnerable against better boxers who give lateral movement or in-and-out movement. I'd say he falls a little bit short of elite because of his more noticable flaws.

Miranda is a tough slugger who wont get any better. He's one of those guys who will give everything he has, but wont be able to beat the best of the best in any weight class he's in. I expect to see him as a stable on ESPN2 after he loses to Kessler.

Good vid but Mudine is nothing special bro. You say he's "lighting fast" LOL When, Where? He's a decent fighter, good soild skills and a legitimate top 10 fighter. Kessler is a very good fighter in terms of his technique and ring savvy.

I see Kessler beating Miranda only b/c Stylewise kessler has straighter punches and is a tad faster than the heavy handed Miranda. He'll be able to get to his target faster than Miranda But it won't be a cake walk by any means.

Mudine....! He'd get his ass KO'd. He would look good for the first 5 or 6 rounds but eventaully his bad habits like keeping his guard low will cost him. Mudine is a good fighter like I said before...he has decent skills but relies much on his athletic ability that is VERY Obvious. He really has great footwork and is able to AVOID punches due to his refelexs. The skill you say he has is not on the level of what you believe. His natural atheltic talents allow him to compete...So he is a very good talent but that doesn't always add up to a great boxer.

Pavlik isn't fast, but he's prably as fast as Miranda. but he is SOLID in his all around skill. He's very good with his distance and he's very good with his technique. He'd be able to crush Mudine....I think he'd be able to give Kessler a great run for his money but I think Kessler would win by Decision. Kessler is probably the best out of all the fighters mentioned but it's close between Kessler and Pavilk. Mudine is way behind the top 3 guys Mentioned in this thread.
