I heard about it during the pre fight hype (Lewis vs Tyson) when they were speaking about how Lewis was the civilized, humble character while Tyson was the complete opposite. Larry Merchant was talking about this poll.

    Larry Holmes humble????

Seriously? The guy is arguably one of the most arrogant men to ever grace the ring, a fantastic boxer and one of the best outside fighters ever, that crisp left jab was a thing of beauty. But it dosen't take away from the fact that he said in his prime he would have beat anyone. He gave a speech when the Rocky Marciano statue was being unveiled and started blabbing on about how great a boxer he was in his prime as opposed to praising Marciano.

Lennox in his early years was fine but from 1996 onwards he bacame a bit too cocky.

Both legends of the sport and both great boxers but I reckon Holmes would have beat Lewis

Lennox is not humble at all. He refers to himself in the third person, also calls himself the "pugilist specialist."
Lewis was always mr high class.. almost snobby ya know?

Even when he was in the Klitschko documentary Lewis said that the Klitschko brothers degraded the heavyweight championship.
