Danny Garcia vs 140 Miguel Cotto

Cotto stops him. Miguel comes out early pressuring behind a jab, and Garcia tries countering but isn't given much to work with. Eventually, Cotto will start closing in, making it easier for Garcia to land as Cotto commits on the frontfoot, but also allowing Cotto to land his own body shots and straight punches down the middle where Garcia's guard is most open. Cotto's not going to do anything worse than a stanky leg from his counters. Eventually Garcia would find himself too close for his liking against the bull that Cotto was at 140, and gets smothered while eating combinations that he can feel throughout his whole body. I'd be surprised if it made it past the 9th.

Wouldnt be suprised if Garcia could drop Cotto, hes got a solid left hook but unfortunately Cotto has shown he has a left hook of his own and the ability to get back up after being dropped, Garcia just doesnt have the relentlessness or skill or size of a Pacquiao/Margarito and Cotto's body shots would wear Garcia down

The Cotto from the Judah fight puts a serious hurting on Garcia. Different levels.

I miss those days when Cotto was a promising young champion with a brutal body attack. Weird thinking he's a declined 32 year old war-torn veteran.

 

if am not mistaken isnt that cotto 147, He fought quintana then someone else? then judah, it was his 3rd/2nd fight at 147, how can you count that version as a 140 version

Cotto breaks him down and stops him late. Garcia squares up and stands in front of you too much, and that's the wrong gameplan against Cotto unless you can outgun him, which Garcia cannot.

 

What a great fight that would be. Nobody knows yet what Garcia is really made of and how deep he can dig so its hard to call.
I see Cotto more hurting in exchanges and if i had to pick id go with Danny.

 

I see Cotto beating up Garcia and stopping him in about 7 or 8 rounds. Too quick for Danny.

 

The action in this one will be similar to Cotto vs Torres, FOTY candidate for sure. This will be hell for Cotto early but as the fight goes he will slowly take over and stop Garcia.
