Seeing as though Duran thoroughly defeated a peak Leonard @ 147, how is that you have him so many notches ahead him? Not to mention Duran has the best 135 lb resume Ever next to Benny Leonard's.
True i suppose but i tend to scale fighters more on hand 2 hand and yes whilst Duran beat Leonard, Leonard returned the favour and did better against the likes of Hearns and Hagler where Duran failed. Not discrediting Duran by any means, im overly impressed with what he accomplished and as for the notches dont read into them so much, I havent slept for 48 hours
From a H2H standpoint Leonard and Hearns indeed rate ahead of Duran in the grandscale of 147, I just believe Duran's victory should move him higher on the scale. On H2H basis Hearns always owns Duran due to the style mismatch, but yet Duran has a far better win at the weight. It all depends on how you want to look at it, but im of the opinion that when grading H2H you look at who the particular fighter beat at the weight and how long was their reign as champion. Leonard clearly rates ahead of Hearns and also has better wins than Duran yet Duran holds the Ace with his win in Montreal.
i voted for 11-20.. but could as well be 21-30.. he's around the 20th place imo.. top 6 of the fighters that have been active in the last 30 years
Please go and watch more JCC. Having him below Tszyu, Cotto, Margo, Pacquiao, Marquez, Trinidad, DLH etc is embarrassing. Chavez was an excellent fighter technically also.
135-147 Robinson Armstrong Leonard Duran Chavez Whitaker Jose Napoles Ross Tommy Hearns Floyd Mayweather
Havent ever done a full list - but i would struggle to name 30 p4p boxers higher than him - so as a kop out im going to say around 30!
