I've been thinking about this all night, i couldn't sleep, sorry if this has been posted before

I've been working on compiling everyone's response in emails 2 the wbc, wbo, wba, ibf and many of the smaller organizations, but I have 1 more q I wanted 2 run by you guys

ive seen a lot of complaints about how fouls have negatively effected the outcome of a fight - see abner mares-africbeko; cotto-judah low blows, sam peters rabbit punnching

and generally I think if the ref catches it - sure it's a good thing2 deduct a point, works fine right?

    BUT
I think we've seen in some particularly instances where dirty fouls have completely changed the course of a fight and made it unfair - and it seems even deducting poiints is not enough

So what I propose and will propsoe 2 the organizations in email later today is the 2 begin the debate (obviously not implement) the concept of "free shots"

In hockey if U make a foul U get a penalty shot - 1 free shot against the goalie - nobody complaints about that?

basketball u get free throws - who complains about that?

football u get 2 touchdown tries but u don't see anyone bitching about that

why is boxing different? why not - after a particularly dirty foul - why not consider a scenario where if U are fouled against, the ref stops the action & u get 1 free punch at your opponent & the opponent can't defend

Now I believe this wuld add a great deal of excitement and would clean up the sport at the same time - it would also add strategy because if you are about 2 get punched bc u made a penalty u could also possibly have the ability 2 duck OR bend back n counter

1 thing that I'm not sure of is whether the ref would hold the foulee's hands behand their back during the free shot but I'm still figuring it out

please contribute 2 this thread w/ your thoughts - i am not defensive or married 2 this idea - just want to hear any opinions, whether u support t or just agree with it

thnx 4 your time - please try to get your responses in by 4pm ESt if u think of it - respond here & don't pm me, i get lots of messages

:rofl:rofl:rofl:lol::lol::lol: Where to start:huh First no boxer will stand for Wlads right hand shot(as example), first off all you must realize the difference between full contact sports and usual team sports.
Dont be offended but this is probably the stupidest idea i ever heard !!!

Imagine drawing an actual accidental foul against prime Earnie Shavers or George Foreman.

jeremy, i think u misunderstand my intensions - i am trying 2 help boxing thru discussion - amplifying truths -

let's cut 2 the chase - boxing is not as popular as it once was in america - boxing is no longer on normal TV, the link 2 boxing coverage is hidden on espn if u try 2 look for it - when is the last time u seen a boxer on a wheaties box

so i am trying something new - rather than complain - i want to explain - i want 2 find ways 2 make boxing more popular than ever - it's with fan feedback and using sociol media 2 get in touch - these r tools never imagined once and now unto us in our hands and use - this is important time if u stop n think about it

i am not interested in quarrel about whether manny pacquiao is strong or how many people floyd mayweather is fight - I am here 2 bring it back to boxing's roots and that is debate which is mental boxing - and boxing is more mental than physical as many have been quoted and though the brain is the most sensual organ in the body it is also the most violant - let's use our brains for boxing 4 once thx

This rule plus a referee who penalizes Wlad's holding would be the end of his career imagine Haye landing a free full power shot on Wlad. Hell even Foreman might come out of retirement again
