If I were honest, I'd say that he, Duran, and Pac pretty much share the top spot. A lot of that has to do with the other two just being before my time, though. (And yes, I've since bumped the old man down to a clear but relatively distant #4).

At this moment he's in my top five quite easily.

    #4 best fighter on film?

    Hopkins? Favorites.

Don't know if he'd even crack the top 10 for the other thing. Scratch that, I do know - he wouldn't.

Best for best, he was better than Floyd.

Way, way ****ing cooler, too. If Floyd would just be Floyd all the time he'd be my 3rd or 4th favorite fighter in the game today, but he just has to put on that annoying, ****ish act. "Money" - ugh.

Gonna have to agree with DrMo and go with Holyfield. The undisputed ATG No 1 in his own division (albeit a division with a short history), who then jumped up to the division with the biggest disparity in size and gave a top 3-5 ATG in that division in Lewis a couple of tough fights, and beat a top 10 ATG in the division in Tyson twice, and faced and beat pretty much everyone else in a strong division until the Klits came along. No disrespect to all the other fighters mentioned here, but what Holy has achieved merits far more recognition. Undisputed champ in two divisions within 25 fights of turning pro is something very special.

    1. jones (prime roy best ever, that simple)
    2. pacquiao (so small yet beat everybody in dominant fashion, would he have been taller like 5'11, damn a 5'11 prime pacquiao would have been a machine of destroying anybody and anything, yes I think a 5'11 prime pac beats martinez and ward)
    3. mayweather (best technical boxer ever)
    4. pernell (one of the best balanced boxer, very good at offence and even better at defence)

in his prime got very rarely hit.

could adjust to any fighting style and win rounds, ultimatly win fights vs more athletic opponents like judah who were winning on scorecards until floyd adjusted and beat him. sure judahs poor condition also had something to do, but overall floyd is a technical genius. he doesnt have the speed or the reflexes of a prime jones, but he is more technical, as hard to hit as prime jones and he does that not by reflexes like prime roy, but by pure head and shoulder movemant and footwork, just more technical than p. j. who did what he did by simply being 10 times more athletic than anybody else and having the reflexes to match with the athletiscm.
