Yeah I can be mad because in the history of headbutts in the sport, only a handful have acted out in the same way. They weren't in a moment of competition. It may have been legal but it was bogus. In no other reality absent that slip-up with Cortez and the butt does Floyd stop Ortiz in 4.

If you became a fan after he beat Ricky Hatton, I can see how you think he's inactive.

In reality he had 16 fights over 5 weight classes from 2000-2007.

Of those 16, 12 were world or former world champions.

This is the twilight of his career and boxers when they reach this level of superstardom as a Sugar Ray Leonard or Oscar De la Hoya they can pick and choose when thy fight because it will always do mega bucks.

After beating Hearns he fought Bruce Finch, out of the ring for 2 years, fought Kevin Howard, then retired again for 3 years before he fought Marvin Hagler. Then fought once in 1988 against Lalonde. Fought rematches against Hearns and Duran before retiring again for 2 years to come back and lose to Terry Norris.

    Thank God for this post.

I can see why people who only jumped on the bandwagon post Ricky Hatton would be pissed. To be fair, they missed out on Floyd's best years.

Hagler past his best. Hearns past his best and beat him. Duran vs Leonard 3. Like having a Mayweather vs Castillo 3 now.

    No Nunn? McCallum? Jackson?

Lalonde was the number 5 lightheavyweight in the world when Leonard fought him. Duran was the number 3 middleweight and Hearns was the number 5.

    Oh ****ing come on.

Anyone of those 3 guys (Duran, Hearns & Hagler) is better than anyone Mayweather has ever faced.

Well, Marquez and Mosley were within 9 months of each other, same with Ortiz and Cotto. Now he's talking about fighting twice again this year.

Not too shabby for a 36 year old boxer with 43 fights. He keeps everything close but I understand that there were some injuries that he dealt with and decided to take some time off for physical and mental healing. Hard to hate him for that.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for him to fight every month but I am also willing to take what I get knowing that he is 36 years old and at the end of his career.

As MW said, I can understand the frustration for people who only became a fan/hater after the Hatton fight since that is when he became a part-time fighter. I've enjoyed following his career from the get-go.

That's a big accusation and highly unlikely. Floyd has a monster ego and what better for it than knocking a fighter out ? Didnt exactly act dissappointed knocking Hatton out did he ?

perfect post..shut the haters up..acting like floyd is prime and should be fighting twice a year.

I realize floyd is 36 years old that is old in boxing..so I cant argue or complain about him fighting once a year I am appreciative that he can even do that..:deal

let him fight guerrero and alvarez and call it quits unless he wants to do a henry armstrong and go for the real middleweight title not at a catchweight:hat

I knew this would turn to **** once the cheerleaders came in. Note i wasnt trying to offend your hero, i was after fighters who had similar situations :-(
