Any fights that you can think of where a fighter uses his superior boxing craft to neutralize the opponent's superior speed and athleticism?

First that comes to mind would be Marquez against Pacquiao. The man really knows how to take advantage of his better boxing skills over athleticism.

zoo against judah...neutralized his speed with his fist

from the sounds of it, saddler did it to pep 3 times out of 4 with timing, physicality and dirty tricks

forrest neutralized a peak mosley with a long jab and an even longer right hand over the top

In his first fight against pernell Whitaker, Jose Luis Ramirez negated Sweet Pea with nothing more than an educated bank account...

Hopkins neutralized Pascal's punching angle and took away his ability to use athletic ambush-fighting.

    Barrera tamed Hamed.

Chavez hunted down Camacho and punished him.

Can someone precisely define this ambiguous buzzword of morons... "athleticism"?

I always assumed the man who was better in a given athletic endeavor was by definition the more athletic. But I see that I may have been assuming far too much.

No nono Dempsey's speed was nothing of what it had been, his inactivity really hurt him not to mention he wasnt the ferocious man he had been before,

If it had been the Dempsey from 1919- 1923 Gene would not be able to control the fight the way he did

when i use it i'm describing natural athleticism, (speed, agility, body type) the attributes that can make a top sportsman stand out from his peers at the same technical level, or in the case of a number of fighters like rjj, a better level.

the best(or most obvious) examples i can think of pure athleticism right now is the Bengals player who front flipped over someone to score a touchdown, he wasn't trained to do that. Or Anthony Joshua, they have a multi sport tv show with various athletes and that huge guy beat endurance athletes in an uphill bike race, that was damn impressive.
