Since his fight with Crolla, the doctors have said that he has long term brain damage and if he ever got a punch to the head again he could die.

Terrible shame his career is cut so short, but most important thing is that he is fine and healthy

Terrible news. My heartfelt sympathies go out to him and his family. You're right though, the most important thing is that he has hsi health.

Really bad news, Thoughts are with him and family. Coldwell is standing by him as any promoter should and that's credit to Dave. Hope they can raise funds for him and family and let this be further evidence of the warriors these men are and the respect all fans should give them.

Kieran has achieved a lot in sport and will be remembered for his efforts.

That's very sad to hear. Glad he's at least fine and can live well.

Good that he has his health and we're not speaking about something worse but that wouldn't be much consolation for him.

He can be proud of his career, only one points defeat.

I hope this doesn't upset Anthony to much either. This type of thing can really affect fighters. Know he has massive respect for Kieran.

I live in the same small town as him and my OH knows his girlfriend. Such a shame as he seems a good lad with plenty of heart. At least he got to step between the ropes and gave us a great fight with Crolla

    Chin up Kieran

I just thank it's nothing worse than that in some ways. Obviously a terrible thing but could have been so much worse.

Good to see Coldwell standing by him at this rather worrying time.

Sad to hear this news, but at least Farrell is okay. He showed a lot of heart in that fight. Hope he has a happy and fulfilling future.
