    Just read the report and the first comment from Price is;
    ...which seems sensible to me.
Yes he does follow it up with, "Without a doubt I'll be fighting for a world title in the next five fights", but that's just clarification.
So you're being quite disingenuous in using the 5 fights for the thread.

What he's actually said is he needs 2 fights after Thompson before he's ready to fight world title fights, which I think is fair comment as the quality of those opponents would have to be a significant step up.

after Thompson he should go for a Dimitrenko, then a Helenius, after that theres not much in between that and Wlad, it's like an empty gulf, but he'll have to try jump it.

Agreed, with Fury waiting regardless of the result in the world title fight.
There would also be fights against the next great American HW pretender, whomever is the flavour of the month by then.

5 Fights is fine providing they are meaningful fights that test him prepare him for a world title fight, unlike his last however many fights.

Peter Fury “First of all Anfield is a no and one million means nothing to us,”

“As I have said before, we will take Price on when he's achieved where Tyson is now. We are going for title this year and that is our focus.

“Price is nowhere near the level that Tyson has reached and as far as I am concerned, Maloney needs to stop using his own fighter for PR off Tyson’s back when he knows full well the fight’s not happening and in making these offers is fooling the fans with his nonsense.

“Maloney waves money in public with a distasteful tact without realising that not every one jumps for a pound like some we could mention!”

5 fights is enough if its a step up in opposition. But im guessing they will all be against 38+ year old opposition

Why is David Price avoiding David Chisora is that not a obvious fight to make?

Not sure but is Chisora sill banned by the BBBofC? I know ****** was able to get round this but not sure Maloney has the clout to do similar even if he could be arsed.

    Why wait 5 more fights?

At least 3 of those are going to be against old age pensioners who are gonna fall over the first time he lands something meaningful, what will that learn him?

Yes, Yes I know he's fighting Thompson next, how old is he again?

I'm actually starting to root for Fury more, Can't believe it's come to this.

    Easy solution, mate.

Back Chisora instead of either. :good He's the warrior of the bunch. Look at his damn schedule.

No I'm not. The thread title makes no mention of the 5 fights. This 5 fights business is just the latest in Price's bull**** he keeps spouting about needing to learn so much more, and was the the headline on the BBC Sport article itself. Price knows he matches up well right now against anyone in the division outside of the Klits as the division is so weak. He just wants to make sure he doesn't run out of non-Klit options too fast. If he came out and said he is **** scared of the Klits and wants nothing to do with them he could take as many fights as he likes.

Exactly. You never hear Fury talk about long drawn out learning processes in a weak as hell division
