Poonsawat and the Failed Blood Test

    It turns out Poonsawat is suffering from a blood disorder called thalassemia and not HIV as it had been announced by some sites. He was advised by doctors to retire.

    It's not the best of news, but I am glad the dude doesn't have HIV.

    His wife said this much within 24 hours of the news breaking but of course websites did their sensationalist thing and went with the HIV story.

    I never said he had HIV smartass, and if he had a disease for many years, how the **** the guy has been fighting for so long?...why suddenly the issue about the disease came afloat before his fight in Houston ?... The guy has fought in Germany and UK before, in case in Thailand they only check for an hematocrit and a fecal flotation.

    I assume they don't have the same testing protocols as they do in the states. :think

    But if had been fighting with that condition his whole life and it's nothing contagious why not let him fight? Or did his condition worsen?
