Am I the only person who thought Margarito beat Williams?

Doug Fisher said on MaxBoxing that a poll of, I think, 10 writers at ringside, 4 had it for Margo, 3 for PW, 3 a draw.

So you're definitely not alone. I had it 7-5 PW

    Here's the quote:

An informal poll of 11 ringside members of the press revealed that four scored the bout for Margarito, three scored it for Williams, and four had the bout even (114-114). It was definitely not a robbery. It was a close fight, and a darn good one.

You're not alone at all. Just as those who had DLH winning over PBF are not alone.

You gave the eigth round to Margarito? Were you in the bathroom during the 8th???? Are you insane?

There's no way someone could have given the 9th to Margarito, just no way.

Let me put it another way: Of 11 people Fischer asked, 3 had PW winning. THREE!!!

I may have listened to Lederman too much and got caught up in the hype; I'll have to watch again like I did with DLH-PBF and turn the sound down. Maybe Margo did get jobbed?

I just put a new thread up about this. The writers (at least the 11 that gave their cards in an article) slightly favored Margo or a draw over a PW victory!

Some people really have vision and brain problems. I couldn't believe Margarito could think he even deserved a draw, much less thinking he WON. It was laughable.

You're pretty close to being the only one who thinks Margarito won.

    Yes, you are.

The fight was convincing. Williams clearly outboxed, outworked and outshined Margarito. I had it 116-112. If they had given Margarito the decision, it would have beenn absolute highway robbery in the worst form. :yep

Then they all need to have their heads examined. There is NO WAY... I repeat NO FUCCIN WAY, that Margarito won that fight. It wasn't even really close. ANY honest boxing fan would have scored that at worst 7-5 for Williams, more likely, 8-4 and maybe even 9-3.

Facts are facts. Williams won rather convincingly. :yep

Williams won this contest clearly. He outskilled Margarito with speedy combinations, volume, angles, southpaw stance, height and reach. Margarito tried to rally in the 2nd half but Williams won clearly for my money 116-112.

Margarito strong and tough though he tried to rally in the 2nd half essentially he has his limitations and could not overcome the problems Williams posed.
