Wrong. If Loma was a white American, there'd be even more skepticism.

Is he a future P4Per? Who knows. I suspect he has the talent, however.

Does he have world class athletic ability? This much is indisputable.

 

According to his wiki it seems he wont be turning pro this year.

2004 he won the under 17 European Championships

2006 he won the World Junior Championships

2007 World Championships where he lost to Selimov in the Finals was his first tournament as a senior

So going back to age 15 in 2004 he hasn't lost on the world stage. Is it really that difficult to believe that he won all his regional fights around Ukraine when he was age 14 and under.

 

Now he's better than Pacquiao... oh boy.

Lomachenko has amazing skills, but is too soon to compare him with an all time great like Manny and even more so, Pernell Whitaker.

ROACH was talking about the athleticism of Whitaker, Pacquiao, Martinez, Darchinyan and i said that in addition to being an athletic freak Lomachenko was also a more complete fighter than everyone he named except Whitaker and then noted that even at his peak Pacquiao's defense was never anything special.

 

His defense may be better than Pacquiao's, maybe because Manny was a face first brawler earlier in his career. His defense vastly underrated. Againts De la Hoya, Hatton, Cotto and Margarito, he used his movement to turn opponents and get away from the shots very well, Cotto could barely land a hand on him, unless Manny would go all out and try to take his head off (in the first couple rounds).

Now, Athtleticism, i strongly disagree. Manny was a physical freak. Lomachenko does have better balance on his feet, but his foot speed is nowhere near close as Manny's was. Few fighters had feet so fast. And handspeed is not even fair to compare (as is punching power). Lomachenko does have better balance and overrall technique, but that comes with training. Pacquiao is physical beast.

His main weakness is that he doesn't have the experience and tenure Broner has! If Lomanchecko is so good, that he'd beat a guy on Broner's level now, then he'll be breezing through the competition in his first pro fights. He did have a close call or two in the '12 Olympics.

Oh, and is there any real evidence that Lomachenko lost only one out of 400 ammy fights? I can believe that he lost only one out of however many he had, but I haven't seen any official amateur record that states he has 400 fights.

 

This one loss thing isn't a big deal. Lomachenko says he lost once, if you wanna disprove it the onus is one you.

Ward is similar in that he hasn't ever lost as an adult.

ray Robinson reportedly only had 1 amatuer loss also.

Some guys leave the programme at a young age without suffering defeats on the world stage as an adult.

 

Look we are not denying the kid's sublime boxing skills.I am skeptical about his TOUGHNESS and CHIN when it's GUT CHECK time. Gamboa was also a ****ing gold medalist, he got rocked and rode the turbulent adversity like a boss dawg, so did Rigo.Loma looks kind of SOFT! that's why I am saying he is Euro level at this stage. He might not be ready for the Latinos and slick boxers in Vegas.Maybe he is that good, maybe..But It's too damn early.
