That's not exactly true, is it. Also, Ward did beat a drained Dawson.

But I agree that Ward hasn't even reached his prime yet, and head-to-head wise he's surpassed Calzage with ease at the same points of their careers. When all is said and done, and we look at the completed careers of both men, most people will say Ward would beat him prime-for-prime.

    It's to hard to say.

All I can go on is that Calzaghe beet Hopkins who has a similarish style to ward.

But ward has never faced anyone like Calzaghe

    Based on what?

What intelligent fighters has he beat?

    Froch? No
    Kessler? No
    Abraham? Lol No
    Dawson? No

Dude hasn't faced anyone to indicate he could succeed where a Veteran B-Hop failed and out-think Calzaghe.

it's easy to look like a master technician against fighters who are going to stand off you with slow hand and footspeed

it's a different case entirely when a guy is up in your grill nonstop for 12 rounds throwing nonstop punches at speed from crazy angles.

You can't step back and reset, because he's stepping forward faster than you can step backwards, you can't pin him down inside because he's a beast on the inside and windmills at an insane pace.

So please, how is Ward going to be "too smart", and use examples of the fights which demonstrate this, and are applicable based on styles

Yes, mother #. 4 rounds is not close

The more I think about it the better Calzaghe will look. Too much speed, too active. He would trade just to make this one interesting, I promise you. I don't have to be a huge fan of Joe C either...

Ward ****ing manhandles calzaghe. At least Ward is not afraid to fight whoever, whenever. That fact alone is all you need to know.

Prime Calzaghe, too fast hands, too many "slaps"...he would outpoint Ward with ease...
