Eh no... What i actually said if you simplify it is just throw an exaggerated uppercut and if he dosent stop coming in and dodges it then move backwards... nothing like what you explained. Simple... So all i said really was ~ Throw a telegraphed uppercut - if he dodges it move backwards.end.
But the guys a novice whose opponent is walking through his punches regardless of what he throws- a feint and an uppercut isn't going to work
I think BB is just emphasizing the importance of nailing the fundamentals before trying things like that. I don't think he's saying they can never work, but that the OP is better off drilling the fundamentals until they become second nature.
Is there anyway i can privately contact you?I am not allowed to send PMs yet,I don't have 50 posts yet.
i started grabbing more often when im pushed into a corner.it worked pretty well with beginners but i don't think i should rely on that so much.
can you name any other tall fighters, preferably lanky fighters. i already know hearns, P. Williams, and klitchko(SP??) bros.
Why limit yourself to tall fighters? Watch how smaller fighters control distance without the natural advantages- surely that's more impressive.
This exactly. JDSM worked on this quite a lot with me over the year i trained with him and once you've caught onto the basics can become very effective against shorter opponents as i found out in my first bout, but as both JDSM and BB said get your feet sorted and proportioned correctly, i spent my first month getting my feet correct and still have to work on it from time to time but its definitely worth it and key for fighting any type of opponent
