between the demise of setanta and the rise of boxnation sky was actually filling the boxing schedule nicely

sky box office fights went up the shitter because of khan-prescott and haye-klitschko both being huge dissapointments

all those inbetween are usurped by boxnation who to their credit are offering a far greater package than i originally assumed they would

if you love your boxing like i do just swallow the monthly payments boxnation ask for as they do actually offer more than a fair value for money:good

That's a dreadful fight if you take out the sentimental affection many feel for Rees.

February is actually a very good month for Sky.

    Frampton/Martinez Selby/Lindsay 9th

    Broner/Rees 16th

    Brook/Alexander 23rd

Thats 3 good cards in a few weeks.

I've seen you say that Broner has done nothing to justify the hype he gets so how is fighting a former world champ dreadful?

    Really?

Anyone who remembers that "title" fight and Rees' subsequent loss can tell you how little of a "world" champion he was. If you didn't watch it, fair enough, but scraping by M'Baye and then getting hammered by Kotelnik doesn't really suggest world-class to me.

Anyway, he was a "champion" how many years ago? Now he's a domestic-level fighter about to get an absolute beating. Terrible fight.

He's certainly above domestic level IMO, I see him being fairly competitive with Broner for 4-5 rounds before the size advantage taking it's toll.

Be honest, it's a really awful fight. Rees hasn't beaten anyone of real note since losing to Kotelnik. He has done nothing to merit a title shot.

If you take off the Rees-related blinders, it's a ****-poor excuse for a title fight.

Who actually earns a title shot now a days? It's a paper title anyway so I couldn't give a **** if Gavin hasn't earned his shot.

But if you look through Broner's previous title defenses at 130, Rees is arguably better then them.

I admit I'm a Rees fan, happy to see the lad get a big fight.
