AMEN. I've basically said the same thing 1000 times, but didn't feel like typing all of it again. Thanks for doing my work for me haha

'' can joe embarrass hopkins and win every single round??? ''

If there's one fighter that can pull it off around that weight class right now, it's got to be Calzaghe.

Every fight since the Trinidad fight, Hopkins has shown us age doesn't matter in his case, but I believe there comes a time when a style like Calzaghe is just too much for a 43 year old Hopkins, no matter how great he is and / or extremely well conditionned !!

I'm sick of people like you with no sense of history coming on here and filling this board with non sense. Taylor didn't prove ****. He won two controversial decisions against a damn near 40 year old fighter. I suggest you go watch some old tapes of Nard. Enlighten yourelf.

I wasn't jumping to conclusions about you (I didn't say you will be on here the next day did I). I was simply piggybacking off of a post you had made. Hopkins fans hold him to a different standard than they do other fighters. When he cheats it's brilliant and crafty when anyone else cheats they are dirty.

I doubt it so I do. Hopkins is too clever for that.

Hopkins is one of the dirties fighters out ... I also think its clever ...

Cotto, if it weren't for the low blows against Judah - he probably wouldn't have recovered.

    Tito low blows everyone ...

    Bika is a dirty fighter

Hatton is a dirty fighter ... you see the low blow against Tszyu - (paybacks a mother)

    PBF is dirty

If thats what it takes for a fighter to gain an edge or buy time then so be it ... its up to the ref to determine what penalties the fighter should face.

Well noone is bitching about it...just pointing out the possibility of an illegal move being the difference in the fight.

Same way Casamayor might pull out some headbutts tonight on Katsidis.

Good post. This is boxing, not golf. You can't be afraid to get dirty in there. Like Cotto said, you have to do whatever it takes to win out there(within reason of course)

Not a chance Joe wins more than 8 rounds. If it goes twelve, it's simply because Hopkins will be able to handle with the pace and the punching power and we all have seen it before. Calzaghe starts fast and tries to relax at a certain rhythm, drops his hands, showboats a little bit to show that he's in control but suddenly he gets cut or caught by a harder shot... Remember Bika and round 4... Father Enzo tells him to keep his hands up and stop tryin to impress... The result was 116-111 and 117-110 twice for Calzaghe and Bika doesn't have handspeed, doesn't have timing, body balance or finesse with his shots, Bika doesn't feint with his head and body... And Hopkins wins less than 3 rounds? Not a chance if it goes 12.

The rules are written to define what is within reason. If you can't win by following them I think that takes a lot away from the win.

Let me define what I mean by within reason. If you headbutt a guy, the ref is there to see it. He can take a point away, he can even disqualify you. It's outside of the rules, but someone is there to rectify it right away. However, if you're hopped up on some designer steroid that can't be detected; then not only are you gaining an unfair competetive advantage but also no on is able to punish you for it.

The game is hard and rough, no tickling contest like Hatton said after losing to Floyd. If your opponent grabs and hits ya on the blind side of the ref, if he makes you stumble or locks you up, you gat to play the same game... You can't complain to the ref like you are a school boy complaining to the teacher about his colleague. And you can't lose it and start rabbit punching, head butting him or hitting low like a Street idiot. Stuff like Bruno grabbin and hitting Tyson is not within reason.
