Very clever. They probably figure it goes to points burns wins. Then they cansay "burns has two titles, Broner needs to fight in our backyard, and lowball him so he doesn't come" Very clever
Or point out that Ricky is the best at the weight and that Broner should come to him, or GBP should get him the money he deserves. The only duck will be if GBP won't pay what the fight's worth. If it can't afford that in the US, bring it to the UK.
I doubt Vazquez gets a decision even if he wins 8 rounds. Happy the fight got made though, next best after Broner. No chance of a may 4th showdown but hopefully before the year is out. I'd really like to see Burns at 140, some big winnable fights for him there.
I'm not sure. Apparently Broner's team wanted nothing to do with Vazquez, its not as if Burns' has taken on a forgone conclusion here, even if I do think Vazquez is over-rated. Burns had no problem taking on Roman Martinez, or Katsidis, or Mitchell, and now Vazquez. He's the wrong guy to accuse of ducking!
The Americans are desperate to establish Floyds successor before he leaves the sport...the chosen one rightly or wrongly is Broner. There is zero chance of him coming over here to fight Burns. The Americans wouldn't gives fcuk if he bypassed Ricky and went upto 140 anyways just my 2 cents
Or; He correctly refuses to fight Broner because he'd only have half a camp and takes the next toughest fight out there because he's human and all the bull**** criticism from people that know **** all about the facts actually bothers him and he wants to prove himself and strengthen his bargaining power so Broner can't try and shaft him with the short notice bull****?
The fans have spoken, there can be no doubt about that. Alot of promoters have big deals on TV but they are all very close to being ditched and completely abandoned as TV so often does. In this case, the BoxNation will go under if they try to serve us **** too many times. The sad reality is this is a winnable fight for Burns but they are at the right level so the fight makes sense and moves the winner on to bigger things. Enough of Mitchell, Walsh etc Hopefully the ***** will wake up and realise we've run out of patience with the **** Nathan Cleverly is getting. PS - no doubt, this delays the Broner fight nicely.
