If I had my way I would let every animal in the Oakland Zoo have a go on Ward and the referee's ass for what they did in that fight. I'm a huge Kessler fan and I was disgusted by both Ward's use of dirty tactics (all of which was clearly intentional) and the referee's steadfast refusal to do anything about it. He didn't even give him a ****ing formal warning. Not even once! Kessler is such a nice guy out of the ring too and he really didn't deserve to get ****ed over like that. I saw a thread on here the other week praising that referee, but I have zero doubts that he was, to quote the great Norman 'Stoney' Stone, ''in the bag'' and as corrupt as sin.
I can't remember my actual score on the night, I do remember complaining about the cards but I do think that was purely down to Froch being British, have since scored it in favor to Kessler by a round and a draw.
I really admired how Kessler kept his cool and didn't come down to Ward's level, if someone had been nutting me like that I'd have lost the plot and he'd have got the same back or a few warm blows in the middle of his protector cup. How can anyone with a scrap of self respect (let alone the 'Son of God') take any pride from a winning with 'tactics' like those? As for the ref, he should be sentenced to at least twenty headbutts until his eyebrows are in shreds like Kessler's were (the same goes for the tw*t who made the thread praising the ref)
I can't remember the exact score, but I'm fairly certain I had Kessler by three rounds. I felt he clearly took in on activity and his body punching.
I don't think it's in Kessler's nature to do that type of **** though. I would've liked it if he'd fought fire with fire and nutted the crap out of Ward's face too. I certainly would of. Ward's not quite the nice guy he tries to make out he is, IMO. There's something shifty about him I don't like at all. The referee had the best seat in the house but oddly enough he couldn't see any of Ward's transgressions, even when they were flagrant as hell.
:nod I think the difference between acknowledging or disregarding them accounts for a lot of the variety in scoring on that night.
How anyone could 'disregard them' (hello Andy :hi is beyond me, the whole fight changed in Kessler's favour when he started targetting Froch's midsection. Kessler won by at least three rounds.
I scored it to Kessler by a round on the night, I felt Froch gave away rounds by taking his foot of the gas and not pressing enough... I haven't seen the full fight since although I have watched the final round a few times on YT as its just ****ing balls to the wall brawling from the pair of them. Can't wait for them to pick up where they left off.
