Why Don't Upcoming Fighters from Unknown Countries Use the pacquiao Blueprint?

    to gain recognition and some fame? manny is from a nation that wasn't big in terms of a boxing fanbase yet he wasn't ever robbed. He has been well managed into stardom.

    Today we have good boxers like Lara and Matthysse who struggle just for fight opportunities.

    He was known throughout the boxing world even before he became a 7 division champ. The 7th division brought him to the mainstream.

    This is coming from someone who can't count the difference between 7 or 8 and 10. Even if your McDonald's job gave you a raise financed through your family's piggy bank, you still wouldn't be able to count change properly.

    Pac fought in a weight classes that were full of great Mexican fighters. Mexican fighters have a large, built in fan base so he got a lot of exposure.

    Like OnePunchKO stated, if an upcoming fighter today had the opportunity to go through a gauntlet of legends, he too would get massive exposure.

    What the...? The Philippines have had a huge boxing fan base way before Pac. :patsch.

    Like poster jeffjoiner has mentioned manny was exposed first to Mexicans and Americans before his name rang throughout the boxing world

    and to be honest legends tend to beat down people who aren't extremely special even when they are past their best - Pac's blueprint was being born with great speed, power, heart, and temperament, and an unorthodox handedness - the smallest fraction of a percent of even professional fighters have that.

    The blueprint is to be extremely blessed with all the intangibles you possibly can and fight the best? HMMMM

    matthysse or anybody can certainly do it but it took years and lots of fight for pac to do it.

    You have to be as good as Pac to reach the heights he did. In the entire century-plus history of gloved boxing there have been only several dozen fighters as good as or better than Pac. Its not exactly common.

    You also have to be pretty damn willing to fight top quality opponents. Pac first seriously made his name by waging war against each of the great Mexican featherweights. So again, not exactly common.

    PAcquiao is a once in a generation boxer. Even though i don't think he's the best boxer technically. He was exciting as hell, unique and fan friendly. He had an Aura about him that captivated the fans. Bottom line is he gave the fans what they want to see. Straight up EXPLOSIVE WARS.

    Pacquiao had to go through an ATG in barrera to gain his global recognition and marquez for peanuts
    Look at guys like Broner, or Amir Khan when he was coming up, lots of hype before fighting anyone

    pac's manager sold him out to his old promoter (murad muhammad) who was in no way trying to make him a "star." while pac was with murad, he was trying to cash him out on every fight. true story
