Briscoe gets outboxed for 8 rounds, catches Graham in the 9th and knocks him out.

Damn two things you can be sure of in fantasy match-ups are Alan minter will possibly lose on cuts, and the bomber will be ahead on points but always end up getting ko'd

I know what you mean, the same with Napoles. It's always a case of the assumption that he'll get cut. In actuality, it's a myth about Graham. It happened once. Graham only got tagged against Jackson cuz he pulled a Billy Conn and went in for the kill when he had Jackson almost out. If i was to pick - and remember I'm a huge fan of Bennie's - but this fight is all wrong for him. I'd like to say Bennie would catch him late but Graham would probably gallop to a decision win.

As long as graham does not get to brave he stays away enough to take a decision in Britain anyway

    :D

The other one is "Graham finds a way to blow it!" An element of truth maybe but still slightly lazy thinking.

Graham was a fair bit stronger than Briscoe, who had great forward momentum but wasn't anything special for strength up close.

ten round non-title Briscoe would fall to his usual decision loss against laterally moving cuties.especially as he'd get tossed around a bit and pushed back when he does get in close and force trading.

Over 15 could be tough to gauge as that would give Briscoe more time to land enough that frustrates Graham into abandoning his mobility and more disciplined punchpicking, for a war.Graham was not the most focused consistent ring-general and could be goaded into more aggressive flat footed fights, or extended exchanges.

By and large i think straight line pressure fighters and brawlers\sluggers that rely on momentum and awklwardness are the kind of fighters Graham could look really effective against.More so the Hamsho's and Vito's though, as a prime Briscoe threw nice punches(especially the jab) and had a lot of power.Still, he's very predictable in rhythm and not quick of foot, i think Bennie is probably more suited to troubling good slow retreat backfoot fighters rather than the dancing, laterally moving, ring-perimeter stick and move oriented sort of outfighter

There are lots of myths, assumptions and idle half truths both positive and negative concerning Graham, especially and somewhat surprisingly here in Britain, but his physical strength gets truthfully underrated and overlooked.

Be interesting to see if he fancied his chances with his back flip come WWF body slam party trick against Bennie. And how Bennie might react.

This sounds like a big fight.

    Which means Graham loses.

Seriously, other than a past-it junior middleweight in Ayub Kalule, who did he ever beat of consequence?

The Bomber was good enough to compete with the best, but not good enough to beat upper-echelon guys. Briscoe was a class to high for him.

I remember when Bennie Briscoe was about to fight Tony Mundine on Feb 25 1974, in Paris, France. Everyone was saying that Tony would outbox the aging Bad Bennie, but when they fought that evening, Briscoe kayoed Mundine in round 5.Tony Mundine was more of a boxer type. Mundine had won a unanimous 10 round decision over Emile Griffith on Nov 19 1973, in Paris, France. Tony was kayoed by WBA World Middleweight Champion Carlos Monzon on Oct 5 1974, in round 7. I see Bennie being out boxed early by Graham, but rally to win a close decision with his aggressiveness and body punching.
