Your retort to me has been ably responded to by another, but here's my shot. Maradona and Pele are two of the past half centuries ATGs in (world) football. They weren't exactly big men :yep How many you asked? Someone else ans'd shitloads, which translates to very many
Damn... Imagine if all of our football/soccer players were in box insteand, Mexico would be really dominant in the lower weights. :hey :tong
imagine if they competed for a prize like all u can eat at burger king for a year. americans would win the tournament
I am suprised the discrepancy is not wider. It no doubt it was wider when this trend started 10-15 years ago.
As an American I wish I could hide behind that excuse. Problem is, the NFL and NBA has been around for a hundred years. Ouch!!
We've already been through this SEVERAL times. Basketball football and baseball are much more lucrative sports. THAT and the fact that as far as I know the only two colleges that offer boxing are Notre Dame and San Diego st. That should tell you something as far as the support boxing gets in America.
It's not a poor excuse. Back in the 60's and 70's football and basketball players weren't making anywhere near what they do now. And baseball? Forget about it.
Wait who did Vitali lose to again? chris byrd and lennox, oh yea I'm sure he would dominate any era in boxing :rofl:rofl:rofl Oh and who did Wladamir lose to? sanders and a **** fighter in brewster, what a force he would be in a pool of talented fighters :rofl:rofl:rofl Anyways the sport does not appeal to many americans since there are more intelligent paths to take a a large talented athlete, call it being a ***** or what ever, but its that simple. One would have to be a half wit or passionate about the sport of boxing in order to choose it over some college program in football or basketball. What is the argument for that?
Vlad won the gold medal, superheavyweight division. He was drugged before the fight against Brewster, but in the rematch stopped him. Vitali put Lewis into retirement, Vlad stopped Rahman who knocked Lewis out cold, not a TKO but a KO and McCall TKO'd Lewis. Vitali broke Lewis' nose with a punch, so according to the Salido fight, it should have been stopped and given to Vitali. Lewis agreed to a rematch, but then backed out for the largest payday in boxing history. Vitali was ahead on the cards. Lewis promoter signaled Lewis' ref to stop the fight or Lewis would have been knocked out. Face it, Vitali and Vlad are the best fighters in the world today, they beat all the heavyweights and would easily knock SOB Ward out, they would knock Mayweather out, and anyone else in any division. If Ward is the best fighter in the world and the Klitschkos are the worst, they Ward should fight them ASAP! It is be a mismatch, but afterall, Klitschkos are the best in the world in any division. Let's see Ward beat them, they he could claim to be the best, but he has no chance, none at all.
They're playing NFL and Basketball, because apparently no other countries have sports other than boxing.
you did notice he said best TODAY, right? I didnt see a mention that wlad was the best a decade ago. Wasnt Seinfeld still a number 1 show when wlad fought sanders?
