Again it's close. A lot of boxing fans are probably on the fence but it's close. Either way Casamayor is a great fighter.

He lost to Frietas and Castillo. One win doesn't make Campbell a great fighter. Sorry but unless he does something spectacular in the next few years, he'll never make it based on what he has done so far. :-(

Last years living inductees: Roberto Duran, Pernell Whitaker and Ricardo Lopez. Casamayor is nowhere near them in terms of greatness.

Yes McGuigan is in, which doesn't seem right but that doesn't mean that every future "McGuigan" will get in just because he did.

McGuigan's nomination whether it is justified or not probably had something to do with this: "His immense popularity transcended boxing. Long-standing violence between Catholics and Protestants subsided when McGuigan stepped in the ring."

    Quite a feat in itself.

Now if Casamayor ends Communism in Cuba, he's in!

Casamayor i believe will and should go to the hall of fame. He has beaten consistently good fighters, his only problem is that he isnt a big name to the average fan.

for being lightweight champ, yes. as well being in competitive fights with some of the top lightweights (castillo, freitas, corrales....) of his era, absolutely.

Yes, but barely. It would help if he fought Juan Diaz and David Diaz, and beat them.

Had Casa gotten the decision against Corrales-2 (which he certainly deserved), Freitas and Castillo (two controversial losses), he would be definitely an ATG.
