its going to get made because canelo has no other options.

the chances of the wbc sanctioning a title fight with either angulo or cotto after what has undeniably been the worst five-run title defense and title win by a wbc champion in the last 30 years is close to zero.

cotto just horribly failed in a UD loss to unseat the wba champ and the wbc is not going to go for some "torch theory" garbage(seriously, who would fall for this ****?).

    may 4th.

    canelo/trout.

everyone wants to see the fight between the black kid who called out the mexican bully whose been picking fights and beating up all the small kids throw down after school in the school parking lot.

Damn the Hater beat me to a Canelo thread :-( lmao

But yeah, this is GREAT, Canelo want's everything he want's everyone... but GBP is adamant about slowing down his ambition, I hope it does go trough its the best fight to be MADE and Canelo has nothing to worry about with those pillow fists, at worst he wins a close fight, at best he KTFO the pillow fists, which is the most likely outcome, but seeing as how he fought with Delvin low out put and on the backfoot he just might lose a wide UD with that bs and try and survive once he feels that power of the straight right.

So can everyone agree now that if Canelo fights and beats Trout that its a legit win??

I get the sneaking suspision that if Canelo beats Trout, ESB will be inundated with people saying

"Trout was a hype job, the best win on his record was against a washed up WW"

Won't happen, they will say one thing now that trout has a chance, but once Trout gets destroyed, the hating will commence, rinse and repeat.

canelo gets slack for no reason. he personally, clearly wants to face the best and has wanted to face the best out there, but his handlers, like most sound boxing businessmen, would rather milk him for his notoriety until they're left with no alternative but to put him in there with a truly dangerous opponent.

I personally don't see canelo as being ready for trout. I need to at least see him in there with a guy who is a legitimate 154 pounder before putting him in there with the near middleweight trout, even if stylistically the opponent is dissimilar, which is why I think it would be a great night of boxing if canelo got it on with angulo in his next fight, and perhaps trout was matched with kirkland, or angulo with trout and canelo with kirkland.

Nah, he's ready, come on Delvin Rodriguez showed Trout is average, his skills are nowehere near Mayweather as made out to be, people clown on Canelo for being flat footed or plodding, but Trout isn't a big mover, he is stationary with his defense and sometimes loves to chill on the ropes being defensive which will not serve him well against canelo.

Being southpaw will only make Canelos right hand land easier on Trout, specially when stationary and he cannot keep moving for the whole 12 its not his style, the combos will get in as they got in when small cotto was doing them.

IT's gonna be good. But I don't see How trout has the ability to completely get away from Canelo the whole 12 rounds like Lara who is more of a mover then Trout and has better ring IQ and more defensive skills.

what credit do you give trout? because it seems to me that you give him none at all. and I'm not one of the people who thinks he is like mayweather.

Think about it...since fighting Rhodes, Canelo hasn't defend his title against any jr welter.
Beating Trout - who's coming from the best performance of his career- will be not only legit but will give Canelo all the credibility he has lost through the last couple of years.

I truly hope this fight happens. I think it will be the toughest test of Canelo's career. I will be rooting for him.

You have common sense, the problem is that others don't or are probably just hating. Even though I believe that Canelo can take on Trout, I agree with your overall assessment. Very good post.

Is it just me, or with the win vs Cotto and the Showtime All Access, Trout is about as likable a fighter can be in boxing right now?
