Looks like Wladimir Klitschko may be fighting Odlanier Solis on April 6.

I realize nothing is official, but when I approached and asked Ahmed Oner Saturday before the Showtime event at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, he replied "It looks that way. Yes."

Do you think Solis is an acceptable opponent for Wlad, or would you prefer to see Wlad give someone else a shot?

Solis has just the one unimpressive decision win over Airich during the past two years. He had his shot against Vitali already, and blew out his knee because he was putting too much weight on it. He's not currently ranked by any of the sanctioning organizations.

Personally, I'd sooner see Wladimir fight Ring top ten ranked Tomasz Adamek, Denis Boytsov, or Tyson Fury. If it's impossible to make a fight with one of those, Wlad should go for an undefeated up-and-comer like Francesco Pianeta.

I'm not saying those fighters I mentioned are more deserving than say, Kubrat Pulev, but it will likely have to be someone not promoted by Sauerland, so that rules out Pulev, Robert Helenius, and of course Povetkin.

In the past Wladimir Klitschko has pretty much done his best to set up fights with the best possible opponents and taken care of mandatories like Thompson last year. Various heavyweights have been turning down title shot opportunities.

But if he goes ahead and fights Odlanier Solis at this time, I will be disappointed.

Solis hasn't done anything to earn a shot, and I'm sick of that being the case of late for Wlad's opponents.

I'd rather someone like Franklin Lawrence or even Marco Huck get the shot before a fat disgrace like Solis. Cunningham or ever a Chambers rematch would be preferable.

on what basis is Solis even considered by Wlad's camp? going 12 rounds with journeyman Airich who got knocked out in 90 seconds by Charr?

Its an absolute joke. Hes a complete disgrace to boxing if he fights Solis.

That will be practically 4 unranked opponents in a row who he has fought as unified HW champion.

If another 1 belt champ in any other division fought 4 nobody's in a row there would be outrage but clueless nuggers lap it up like cake so he continues to get away with it.

Hes a stain on the sport and it'll be a great day when he throws in the towel

yes, still interested to see what Solis can bring, he only got 2 mins against Vital and then sustained a legit freak injury.

I want to see him mix it up with Povetkin and get his mandatory out of the way.

Why Solis? Why Wach? Why Mormeck?
Why jump because Tony Thompson is a mandatory but not when it's Povetkin?

He's "disgusted" because he has a massive beef with Wlad for some reason. He gets on his case any chance he gets.

In this case though, I agree that Solis is unworthy of a shot.

Please just wait until there is an official announcement before calling the HW champ "an absolute disgrace". Can the haters at least do that?

Solis certainly isnt the worse choice opponent, however he will be out of shape and will most likely blow out another knee.

was supposed to face Chambers in an eliminator, Chambers backed out due to injury, so Thompson became mandatory
