Will be a great fight, but seems rather pointless. I'd much rather Rios test himself against Mathysse, Garcia, Khan, Bradley, etc. Although with GB having pretty much all the good 140lbers Rios is pretty much ****ed.

Haha. What is Arum going to do after Rios/Alvarado II? A 3rd fight? TR and his fighters at 140-147 are ****ed, they don't have that many options. Rios/Bradley won't happen either or Marquez in any type of combination. There only option is Pac and they would need to wait because Marquez is next again. :rofl

pointless fight Rios will win again
Rios needs to move onto bigger and better things but its a shame that most of 140 and 147 is goldenboy fighters

Arum wants to see his fighters becoming shot at a young age, it seems

The only options out there for TR at 140/147 appear to be Rios/Alvarado/Bradley/JMM/Pacquiao/Jessie Vargas/Provodnikov and neutral guys like Zaveck/Senchenko. Not many good pickings there, other than a fight involving Bradley, who Arum is intent on shelving.

    ---

I understand Rios/Alvarado II as there's nothing else out there and the first fight was one of the FOTY, and that almost always warrants a rematch. But it is pretty damn pointless and I see the same result in the end.

am i the only one who doesn't really give a **** about this rematch?

it was good, but i'd rather see them fight someone else. the right guy won and there aren't any doubts in my mind.

this is just some TR inhouse scam.

I really don't have a problem with this as long as Rios is being compensated fairly for another war. His career is gonna be short enough as it is so he and his manager need to make sure that they know how much his blood is worth.

man..... what an epic battle that was.... yeah i wouldnt mind seeing that again at all!
Alvarado has a chance if he keeps up with his footwork, maintains a bit of distance to drop his big right....

When he had, he slowed down Rios and sometimes, stunned/hurt him

Alvarado put out around 100 punches a round?!?!? WTF!?!? Never seen him have that punch output before. Think what was surprising was that Mike did pretty good on the inside, had a good chin, and gave out as much as he was given...
    Rios has a phenomenal chin...

I think Alvarado fought his best possible fight against Rios and still the inevitable happened in round 7. I just think he gasses at some point around then no matter what and I really don't see how he can turn the result around.

Great fight and I'm sure everyone that's laughing this off will still end up watching it, but it's kinda' pointless. Nothing controversial or questions left unanswered from the first fight to make us think the result could be any different. Alvarado will have to prove otherwise, but really, there are more meaningful fights to me made if Arum wasn't such a stubborn old fart.
