In boxing? Muscle tears are a pain- broken both hands .... Broken nose, cut eyes - lol that's pretty normal after 60 fights I think
Yes I've fought for free more then once - for more then one promoter ... That's how it is. But luckily most of the time I sold a lot.
My blocking technique and punching technique had to be sounder - it sounds stupid but everyone can punch hard enough to put you in trouble - you have to be covered as well as possible.
Not really - as long as they pay me I'm doing my job. I can't make someone want it more really - I can only give him the tools. The most talented lad I ever trained was like that he'd come once a week - didn't practice. He was special, had a great brain for it. But simply wasn't committed - but I'm not upset about what might have been- that's his loss. And he would have been beaten by people with less talent due to his poor commitment.
What kind of injuries did you have in the amateurs? I am thinking if its worth to continue just as a hobby Also do you think that with your boxing experience that you could beat a much bigger opponent or did you ever do it?
Just hand injuries in the ams - the wraps are so **** in fights ... And yes I was a super feather who grew and won fights all the way up to super middle
Do you think strong emotions like anger can be used to your advantage in the ring? They said Trinidad lost to Hopkins because he let Hopkins get him angry with the flag incident. They said Khan lost to Garcia because he was angry at Garcia's dad and tried to go for the KO. Must you always be emotionless? I mean, surely it's emotion that drives you on in the first place, right?
If you are angry you are not in full control. I'm not a boxer but the winning feeling I would Imagine is the emotion you want and what drives you!
I think you should be focused - neither angry not calm.. Just focused on the task. After 60 fights its impossible to be angry with everyone when you fight.... Unless your Roberto Duran.
What is your routine on the day of the fight? Do you do anything to calm yourself down if you're nervous, like breathing exercises or anything like that?
