I believe Cotto did better than most people give him credit for in his last three losing fights. People underestimate his jab power.

Mayweather had to dig deep in that fight against Cotto in order to land the successive punches to his skull in the later rounds.

Well yeah anybody with any sense can tell why that fight was competitive. Cotto is no pushover and he still had something left and Floyd consequently was in a tough fight.

Cotto's solid in all areas, and he's smarter then people give him credit for. He gave Floyd all he could handle -- and for those harping about Floyd's age, it's not like Cotto was in his prime either, he's way past his prime. If Floyd fought him when he should have, years ago, that would have been a great fight as well.

How did you come to this? Floyd landed his most damaging shots onto Cotto when he was off the ropes, and he got the better of the jabbing between them.

prime Cotto had liabilities like **** poor conditioning and technical flaws

I agree. I think Cotto back then would have given Floyd problems, especially because of Floyd's size and he wasn't punching as hard as he is now. Cotto feasts on fighters he can bully around.

His conditioning has been worse since he's moved up in weight. As far as technical flaws go, he still has the same technical flaws today.

I misspoke. Floyd is usually better off the ropes landing at range, controlling the distance. But against a decent pressure fighter, he's more likely to go to the ropes than he is to prioritize controlling the center. His instincts are to measure his opponent and back up while throwing out of his shell and working out of a clinch. He doesn't throw and then step out bouncing back towards the center.

Cotto was coming off a HUGE win (Marg) and a rejuvenated career with Pedro. Even just speaking psychologically, he was in peak form and determined to be the first to beat Floyd.

There's no chance that was the same Cotto that was in the ring as Trout (psychologically speaking).

LOL. The Trout Cotto wasn't motivated.

    Man, shut the **** up.

Cotto was so motivated he was even doing expiremental training to put up to the next level, like altitude training.

    He always FADES.

    EVERY ****IN FIGHT he fades.

He faded against Mayweather. He faded against Margarito, BOTH TIMES. He didn't get a chance to fade against Pacquaio cuz he was RUNNING THE WHOLE TIME.

Ya'll mother ****ers are the dumbest mother ****ers of all time.

    Cotto wasn't motivated. LOL

    What bull****.
